Return to the Ridge
Had been many years since I last played Tangle Ridge. I had moved, and the drive made it somewhat inconvenient. Found myself with a Monday off and thought, why not.
Was pleasantly suprised in the condition everything was in, considering the lack of rain fall the past few months. Everything was is awesome shape, and the course was as fun as ever.
Only downer to yesterday was the three-some in front of us. They must have had a big money game going on, because they sure took their sweet time lining up every. single. putt. Other than that, fun times!

Course shape
They have just sanded the tee boxes and greens. Fairways in great shape considering the drought we are in. You can tell they are making improvements to the bunkers and overall they are doing what needs to be done to save the course during this brutal heat wave. Can’t wait to see the results in September and October. Overall, compared to other courses in the area right now the course is in good shape regardless of the sand on the greens and tee boxes. Looking forward to play there again in the next two months.

TangleRidge
I tried this course for the first time. It was about 35 to 40 miles away from where I live. The course was wide open, so there weren’t that many players playing at that time. It’s a very nice course, however, they had aerated the greens and sanded the greens, which made it difficult to put accurately. other than that it was a nice course. I would play it again if the price was right. I enjoyed it. We have a heat wave going on here in the greater Dallas area so it’s about 104 when we were playing and a bit uncomfortable.

Loved it
Been playing twice a week throughout the metroplex this summer. Of all the courses so far, this is my favorite. I live 45 minutes away but would certainly make the trek again.
Great layout. Beverage cart and on course drinking water availability which has been not the case on quite a few other courses this summer. That is serious kudos given the heat this year.
It seems they have been pouring water on the course cause it is still in really great shape. Tee boxes were great. The greens were fast but fair. I do understand that they are gonna punch them this week so be aware of that coming up. Kudos to the grounds team.

SLOW PACE OF PLAY!!!
First, nice course for the green fee. Second, pace of play was ridiculous. Saturday morning 8:30am tee time sounds ideal, right? Wrong!!!! Stuck behind 4+ groups of 5-somes.
I was told by both rangers that the “Pro” allows it because he plays with those guys. Ridiculous! As a “Pro” he knows the number one complaint from golfers is…..yep, pace of play!!
This was a 5hr20min round. At certain points of the course there were 3 groups waiting.
If you play here, do it during the week when the “good old boy” 5-some network isn’t playing.

As Good As It Gets
Course currently in the best shape I have seen it. Fairways, bunkers and greens in tournament condition. Caution though, aerification coming up early August. Lovely course....worth the drive.
