Amazing value for the money
I’ll start my review by saying that I don’t go on weekends. I try my best to stick to weekday golf and the most I’ve paid during the week is think like 70$. With that said, this is easily a 100$+ course. It’s fantastic.
The range facilities while small are great for a pre round warm up especially since range balls are included. Each hole is a completely different experience which I love, and no two holes are alike. It’s challenging without being tiring so it still maintains the fun while allowing you to get a little outside your comfort zone and really think about your next shot.
I play here often, and each time I have a different experience with what I’m going to go and how I approach my game that day. I absolutely love this course. Easily one of the best if not the best in the area as far as public courses go.
Fun round
I don't play here as much as I would like, but always enjoy my round here. It's a very good layout! Winds & rain all morning, so the course was practically empty when we started out at noon. The course is always in fine shape, the greens are true and fast (even wet), and the staff is friendly. What's not to like? My only complaint this time was we had to go on-line to get the lower rate; guy on phone wouldn't offer it up to my partner who hosts a large outing there every year. Oh well.
Great golf course great views, fast greens, and nice layout
Maryland National is a great golf course. Great scenery, course layout with any risk reward holes and always fast challenging greens. A must play course in Maryland.
Paired with three nice guys but very poor golfers.
They backed up the entire course. I found a lot of balls as I looked for their's.
Pristine and Stunning Views
Absolutely incredible course, perfect greens, same quality as many high end private courses and much more expensive public courses. I live in Alexandria and would take the drive here anytime I could to play. Layout is fun and challenging with big elevation changes. Very Impressed!
Perfect Day of Golf
For this time of year, course was in fantastic condition. Not terribly busy, but our foursome took 4.5 hrs to finish. Good value for a mid-day tee time. Range, putting, & chipping areas were very well maintained.
Decent Driving Range
Only stopped by to use the driving range. Played off the grass which was nice. Good mowing. Every target is downhill which inflates distances but makes it easy to see where the balls land
Putting green is too small. Must be really cramped during peak hours. Only a few holes actually cut into the green. Chipping area also quite small.
Sadly practice greens and chipping areas seem to be an afterthought at most courses. Great views though.
Always The Exemplar & The Cut Above
Thanks for you standard of golf customer service and product excellence…always one of my top 2 courses to frequent . See you again really soon!
Can’t believe I waited so long to play this course.
For years I would drive by when visiting my daughter and think to myself “I hear that’s a great course. Maybe I’ll play there soon.” I finally did just that and so mad I waited so long to do just that. Maryland National will be on the list of things to do for every visit from now on.
Love this course
I've played this course twice now, and I loved it both times. Some of the holes are challenging, some are pretty unique, and the course is in great shape. I would add that it would play even better if more players were reminded to fix their divots and ball marks!
Fill your divots, people!
This is such a great course that it makes me sad to see so many dicots in the fairways and ball marks on the greens. Nothing can take away from the great layout and challenging course, but, c’mon people - fix your hallmarks and divots! Help out the course to become even more beautiful.
Excellent course
All around excellent course and facilities. Also the food and restaurant service are great
Favorite Public Course in MD
Had a rough day (played poorly) playing here for the first time this year. Play the right tees!! It's a hard course and will really penalize bad shots. Pristine conditions, and the best greens and bunkers I've played on this year. Only drawback was the nats were out since it's been so wet this week.
Beautiful Course in the Mountains
The course was in great condition when we played -- nice fairways and well-manicured greens. The elevation changes provide for beautiful views and interesting holes. Good combination of tight fairways and wide open holes, but most greens are on the smaller side making approach accuracy critical. Loved this course and definitely plan to play it again. Well worth the drive from surrounding areas.
Perfect day for golf
A perfect day for golf with friends. Enjoyed the course and weather.
