GlenRiddle Golf Club - Man O' War Course
About
GlenRiddle Golf Club is home to two championship courses that offer completely distinct golfing experiences. The Man O' War Course is situated on the western portion of the club, sweeping across a sand dune-covered landscape that is perfect for a round of Scottish links-style golf. The large greens, double fairways, and deep pot bunkers will make you feel as though you've been transported to the British Isles. The ever-present winds blowing in from the eastern shore further adds to its authenticity. On the site of the golf course there is an old racetrack that was used to train champion thoroughbreds, part of the track is now used as a strategic cross-hazard that comes into play on three holes. The golf course begins gently with a front nine that is wide-open but becomes progressively more challenging, primarily with the presence of water hazards.

Great Course - War Admiral
Great course and facilities!
The 18th hole is one of the toughest holes I have ever played!
Ocean City Hidden Jewel
What a pleasant surprise...a beautiful course with very well maintained fairways and greens. It's fun and challenging course. Some holes are even more challenging due to more undulations on fairway than green. Finding myself amazed by scenic beauty. Definately want to play again next time I visit Ocean City.
nice layout would play again
This is my second time here to play and I enjoyed the course both time, love the layout. Some fairways were browned by the tough Maryland winter. we were told that in the Pro Shop so fees were discounted.
Bermuda grass or dirt
The course is a great design. the condition was fair to poor.
The value that we paid on the hot deal made it worth it but would've been disappointed if paid regular price... Pace very slow
great course
enjoyed the course very good condition for this time of year (April) course workers very nice
This course has good features
It was very windy, but nice to be able to play golf after a long New England winter.
Man O' War a nice design. Staff extremely friendly.
Enjoyed Man O' War a lot. Staff fantastic. Cart GPS and cover and free range balls a great bonus. Only downside was greens had been recently aerated and weren't rolling very smoothly at all. Still a good value through GolfNow. Loved the design and everything else about it. Will be back next time I'm in OC.
Man o war
We loved this course , player friendly, you can score well here under better weather conditions 30mph wind gusts! Course was in great shape , big generous greens, putts rolled true, all the balls you could possibly need to warm up on the range, included! More courses should do that! Can't wait to play it in nice weather conditions!!
Course condition
The course was in good condition, considering all the snow we just had. We played the silver tees at approximately 6000 yards. It was a little windy on the front nine, but calmer on the back nine. I would recommend this course to my friends. I have a package deal with Ruark Properties, and will be playing here in Sept.
Very Different
Bermuda grass on a Links course.Enjoyed though the weather was very hot and the greens had been recently aerated. Received a surprise discount off reserved price for aerated greens. Very Nice! Staff was great. The starter provided a great overview of the course when he learned we we first time players. All the staff was pleasant and helpful.
Excellent facility
Well kept, tough but fair course. Friendly staff and very good carts(all with GPS).
Great course for the price.
We ended up getting a great deal. This course was great and pace of play was right on schedule.
Challenging links layout
The first 12 holes are straight links, while the last 6 are back in the woods and are more like Glen Riddle's other course, War Admiral. It was very windy on the day we played, which complicated club selection. The greens on both courses seems to get marked up a lot - spike marks and ball marks - a sign that the root structure isn't the greatest. But they still putted pretty well. Nice clubhouse with a Ruth's Chris Steak House as the restaurant - hard to beat that.
This course is blessed with natural terrain
Tremendous layout greens were a little beat up but overall conditions were great
Great staff
Course was in great shape but I was mostly impressed by the staff!! Everyone was friendly and very helpful.
Man-A-War
Tee boxes, fairways and greens were perfect. GPS quit on us on #10 but thanked us for playing at the end. Didn't need it as we weren't being pushed. A must play in Ocean City.
Save your Money
My wife and I played this course on Sunday afternoon. I have played it several times but it was my wife's first time. For the women's tees you had two choices 5000 yards or 6000 yards. The first is too short the second too long.
The condition of the course was fair at best. All of the greens were slow. It looks as though the holes haven't been moved in three weeks. There were many burnt out areas on the course as well even though it has been a wet summer. The bunkers were mud not sand and they were wet as well.
As I mentioned, I have played this course several times and this is the worst shape I have seen it in. Thank goodness we only paid $45pp. Even at that discounted price it was too much. I would wait for some better reviews before I played it again.
great course links style big deep bunkers
Wonderful play liked the fact that warm up balls include and thought the price was great for the time of year and time of day GPS in carts very a curate
Enjoyable vacation golf experience
The Man O' War course at GlenRiddle was a very enjoyable vacation golfing experience. The conditions were really great, especially considering it was the height of summer. The staff was very helpful and extremely friendly. The layout is challenging, yet fair. They also have pretty reasonable rates that lower throughout the day. I would definitely recommend it to anyone vacation in the Ocean City/Delaware beaches area or planning a golf trip to the area (there seems to be a lot of great options for a group planning a trip).
wonderfull experience
I startyed as a single and first time at course staff was very helpful polite, and gracious. course was in great shape, open and rangers were helpful not a hinderance to play.
