GlenRiddle Golf Club - Man O' War Course
About
GlenRiddle Golf Club is home to two championship courses that offer completely distinct golfing experiences. The Man O' War Course is situated on the western portion of the club, sweeping across a sand dune-covered landscape that is perfect for a round of Scottish links-style golf. The large greens, double fairways, and deep pot bunkers will make you feel as though you've been transported to the British Isles. The ever-present winds blowing in from the eastern shore further adds to its authenticity. On the site of the golf course there is an old racetrack that was used to train champion thoroughbreds, part of the track is now used as a strategic cross-hazard that comes into play on three holes. The golf course begins gently with a front nine that is wide-open but becomes progressively more challenging, primarily with the presence of water hazards.

good course
Good course to play. Greens were in excellent condition. Would def play again
Excellent greens and great visuals
Before playing War Admiral I was asked if I had played Man o' War...they couldn't be any more different. Two great layouts that anyone would enjoy playing, if possible I'd recommend playing both in the same day or week.
Good Time
Found the course challenging as always but we all had fun and it was a beautiful day. Would recommend it to average or better golfers.
price was great!!!!
first time at glen riddle!!! won't be the last!!!!
Awesome
Loved this course! Links style, great layout, challenging yet playable. Highly recommended.
Try to play weekdays for $40 less.
Love the Links course
Nice course..very busy but the starters do a great job making sure the tee times go off as needed.
beautiful day
It was a beautiful day and the course was friendly to me. The greens were is good shape and allowed me to complete the round with only 15 putts.
It's been a lousy winter and wet spring so I had low expectations for the course conditions. I was surprised that it was in pretty good condition. I have played this course about 1/2 dozen times and I like the diversity. It was a beautiful day.
Two thumbs up
Top notch course. Big course and a whole lot of fun.
Golf outing
The weather was cool and windy. Greens had been dressed earlier but were very playable. Pro shop reduced our green fees without our asking due to condition of greens. We made a tee time to play again this week.
Historical Golfing
Always a nice course to fit a round in during Winter time
Surprise December day
Any day playing golf in December in Maryland is a major PLUS, but to play a great course, for $25...all the stars were aligned! Played in just a golf shirt, until the cold front blew in...but 14 holes was better than sitting with a Yoohoo and a Twinkee inside.
I had played man o'War once before, and it is a great course. Nice variety of holes, interesting routing, reminiscent of the Carolina's' best ...anxious to get back in the spring to play both Riddle Farm courses, and Rum Point...the Ruark tri-fecta my wife gave me for Christmas!
Two very different courses
We played both courses on November 14, 2013. We played Man-o-war in the morning and War Admiral in the afternoon. The courses are completely different. MOW had dormant Bermuda and a links style. Being from New Jersey the Bermuda was a bit distracting. A nice, fair, enjoyable track. War Admiral had the lush green (rye?) we typically see at home. It was in beautiful shape. The layout was fun although having not seen the course before it was difficult to figure out how to play certain holes even with GPS. We had a good time and would certainly go back. The facility was beautiful and the staff was great.
very disappointed
arrived before our scheduled tee time due to inclement weather. our foursome expected to receive a rain check due to the heavy rain and wind. course received over 3 inches of rain and winds were 40mph and above with a steady driving rain. carts were soaked and canvas covers did not work properly therefore clubs got soaking wet. when we requested at least a rain check we were told " we are open ,no refunds or rain check". we attempted to play and lasted 5 holes before we coukld not continue . went back to pro shop and requested at least a 9 hole rain check or credit and were told " it is not our policy ". the course was muddy with puddles of water everywhere including bunkers and tee boxes. my opinion is that the course management acted with low class instead of the 1st class that was advertised and should have closed and our group issued a credit or refund.
14 holes a wide open links course 4 holes through the woods
Had a great price on Golfnow. Staff was friendly and professional. Had range balls and starter came to bring you to the first tee. Starter gave us a full description of the course before we went out. We had nobody in front and a single caught up with us which we just let him by. Extremely enjoyable round. Nice 19th hole. Will go back next year to play War Admiral.
Very good course. Tougher than expected not a big links fan though.
Greens were fast, all but one was in good to very good condition.
A fun course
An interesting track with moderate difficulty. No boring holes. Conditioning was good.
Great Experience!
I took my Dad here for a midweek round of golf, and we had a blast! The two men that helped us with our bags and cart were so friendly and talked to us about the course. When they found out it was our first time at GlenRiddle they made sure we knew where everything was, and overall we felt so comfortable. The complimentary practice balls definitely helped our game! I would definitely go back here! Thanks for the great experience!
Very Challenging
You can't beat this course for value and professional staff. You are treated like your at a private club
Want to play with No wind
The course was in good shape. We played in a constant 15-30 mph wind! It made the course very difficult! Greens were very receptive and the fairways were in pretty good shape. Don't hit it in the tall fescue!! I would play this course again and would like to try in normal conditions. My dad and brother and I had a good time. The staff was exceptionally friendly, especially the starters. They kept us laughing and relaxed while we were waiting to tee off due to a backup a few holes in front of us. Very professional!
Great Course..Bring your own water!
Enjoyed a great round on the Man O' War course. The course has a great layout and provides water challenges throughout the course. It is truly a "links" style course on the front and mixes with some tree lined fairways on the middle part of the back. Want to experience a "pro-worthy" hole? Tee up from the black on the par-5 600yd+ 14th hole and try to reach in 3. Greens were in good shape and were quite soft. The undulation around the fairways and greens is amazing. I mentioned bring your own water as the course has only one water jug on each nine (located around the 6th/16th hole) and both were empty. This is disappointing as a course of this stature should have 3-4 on each nine. Not fun playing in 90+ degree heat in the afternoon with no water available. Thanks to the starter for moving us up to tee off before a first time foursome. Get a deal and play the course, you'll enjoy the golf.
