Great course, great staff.
Always a great place to play, friendly and welcoming staff. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Very nice course, pretty challenging
Very good course that has its moments of being very challenging. It's good for beginners, it does have a densities to hide golf balls!!!
Can the Rough ever get nowed?
Lost 3 ball in play that are i the wide open … hit the fairway and rolled into the rough…. This complaint is not uncommon for this course.
The rough has a bunch if clover in it and when it goes 1 weekk it is like the Burmuda Triangle for Golf balls in play
great greens but irritating rough
large and beautiful greens that were quick and rolled true. layout is as good as anywhere. would love to see reseeding on fairways and cutting lower on rough. spend way too much time locating balls that are less than 5 yards off of firways.
Beginner friendly, staff friendly also
I'm new to golf. I have managed to get to a few different courses though. The fairways are very open, compared to some other courses.
Nice club house and the staff is friendly and helpful.
This is a great course in terms of challenges and layout. Aeration presented some unwanted challenges but it’s a necessary evil.
Course had just been aerated and most of the aeration holes didn’t have sand in them. Course was very dry, like concrete in some places, but well maintained. The clubhouse said it would be slow because Golf Now didn’t communicate that the tee time was filled and they double booked
Lack of pride in course maintenance
Today was first time playing Stone Crest, and it will also be my last. Pulling into the course I was pleasantly surprised by the curb side appeal. The course sets in a beautiful housing development and the club house has charm. This unfortunately was the high mark for the course. We got right on and played in about 2.5 hours on a Sunday afternoon. The pro shop staff was friendly and accommodating.
The fairways were pitiful at best. They didn't even appear to have bent grass on them. I played the West course first, and my approach shot into the green felt like I was hitting out of the parking lot. They were patchy, dry and dead in most spots. The course has also drained over half of the ponds. I am not sure why they did this, but it looks horrible to the eye. The rough was mostly crabgrass and clover. It made chipping and pitching difficult especially on a less than desirable lie. The sand looked like it had not been raked in quite some time. The greens were plush and rolled well. They are the saving grace for the course .
The course needs some serious work in order to get into optimal shape. I think lots of healing and grooming are in order before I would recommend this course to another player.
Greens Only Golf Course
Good only for practice. There are no fairways at all.
Slow 4-some golfers (who also happened to be employees) wouldn't even let a two-some play thru. A lawn mower was constantly on the greens and tee-boxes and refused to turn off the engine when players are putting or ready to tee off. Staff and employees need more training
