Worth the drive from downtown Dallas.
Caught a cooler day in early June, and the course was in great condition considering our drought/heat. They should call this course the dog leg, because they're everywhere, and they force you to be smart in your approach and use all the sticks in your bag. Plenty of elevated greens that are fun to shoot at, as there's usually a side you don't want to miss to. Greens were in great shape and rolling true (though not terribly fast). Several long putts made during our round.
Marshalls appeared a couple times during the round, but our pace (and those ahead/behind) was steady all day. The starter was friendly and having a good time with us. This isn't always the case on typically crowded, public courses, so it was a refreshingly positive start to the round that rolled into an all around great day of golf.
Call the course for specials, they have weekday deals and summer promos.. I believe Mon-Thurs rounds are $39, including cart, range balls, and a sleeve of Pro-V1!
Fun layout, ok condition
Played here for the first time, very fun layout and the staff was incredibly friendly, one of the Marshalls checked up on us every few holes and talked us through a couple of the more challenging holes. The course itself was in decent shape with inconsistent tee boxes, fairways and greens. All and all a great course for the money and somewhere I’ll play again soon
Friendly staff, good golf course
Took a buddy from out of town to play his first round of the year. We had a blast. The course was recovering from rain so it was 90 degrees with the carts. Lots of approach shots over hazards. That and the wind made it quite a challenge. Great staff. It was nice to have a beverage cart out on a Monday, especially with my favorite IPA. Cheers!
Slowest Round of golf I’ve ever played.
To start, had to sit there waiting for a cart because they don’t have enough to accommodate for all golfers. After which we played the slowest round of golf ever on a course that is getting eaten alive by the river and I’m not good shape at all. Layout is horrible and tee boxes are right in line with fairways. Whoever designed it needs to never design another. Not sure how it got 4 stars.
Never got thirsty!
Course conditions were very playable even with one hole still holding water (but it was ripped off) and the greens were in great shape. Weather was cool in the AM at tee time but warned quickly and Taya, out cart girl, was readily available and quick too serve us so we didn't keep players waiting. It was great to hear that they staff three beverages cart seven days a week. So many others courses struggle to match this feature. I think we found out spring and summer favorite course.
Love Riverside
I've played here countless times. Course is tough enough for any golfer. The water really makes you control your tee shot, the greens make you control your 2nd shots. 18 is one of the toughest pars 4s around but I still come back with hopes of conquering it
Rough kept course
Good value w coupons, easy to get on. Needs course guides as holes are hidden.
Conditions good for winter
Overall good compared to many public courses I have played over past two months. Greens a little bumpier than normal. Most fairways in good dormant shape.
Excellent
This has quickly become my favorite course. Exceptional staff and always in excellent condition. Challenging layout, but not so difficult the average golfer can’t enjoy themselves.
