They needed to make sure there were enough carts for the 1 foursome ahead of us before issuing us a cart. Photo submitted by u6463401 on 08/20/2023

Now I remember....
...why I quit coming to this course. I stopped going to this course because of the really bad attitude of the staff. I only booked this tee time because all the other courses within 60 miles of my house were booked up for the times I prefer in this Oklahoma heat. We showed up at 820 for a 900 tee time only to be told that we couldn't be issued a cart until 15 minutes before our tee time "to make sure there were enough carts" and to make sure they "don't get mixed up." The young lady at the counter gave me a dirty look when I when I expressed surprise at this policy. This was irritating enough on its own but was even more so because only ONE group teed off before us. This is the ONLY time I've had to wait for a cart at a golf course outside of the course being so busy that we needed to wait for one to be returned. As you can tell from the picture there were plenty of carts. Aside from that we still enjoyed playing the course though the overall conditions of the greens were below average. Some were in great shape. But there were far too many that had significant dead spots and chunks missing on the greens. I even had to move my ball on one green to not have to putt through a freaken hole in the middle of the green about the size of a deck of playing cards! About half of another hole was mud and algae. Overall I would only play here for the same reasons I booked today's round. I waited too long to find a tee time elsewhere and this was a last resort.
What happened to this course??
I've played this course multiple times and always have enjoyed it. However this time, it was in absolutely awful condition. I will not be back until they get it back to its former shape and would recommend others check on it before playing.
What happened to this course???
I've played this course many times and always enjoyed my round. However, this was not one of those rounds. Everything was up to par, except the course conditions and they were horrible. Tee boxes and fairways were not mowed, dead spots were everywhere and the greens looked and putted awful! We should at least have gotten a discount. I will be checking very carefully before I play again and it had better shape up or I've played my last round there.
Nice little course!
Had a great time at this little place. Great price on goldnow! Woukd play again! Great staff!
Improvement
The course was in better shape since I played it two weeks ago. Tee boxes still need some attention but they are suitable for municipal play. The greens were in good shape and Chris J. was as great a manager as usual.
This course is worth...
Driving past it and playing somewhere else. This course has an interesting layout, tee boxes can be hard to find but there are plenty of signs to point you on your way. Fairways are tighter than some nearby courses. It has the potential to be a decent track, with some care. Course conditions are poor, standing water on greens, bunkers, and in low spots. They were running the sprinklers at 2pm when its 100 degrees outside on the long par 5, water being used also smelled of sewage. Maintenance crew was ahead of us watering greens (making them borderline swampy) in the hottest part of the day. Would only play here again at the hot deal/discounted rate. If these things don't bother you then this is a fine enough course for the price, however there are better options in the area.
Great Course, one rude staff member
I had purchased one golfer and one cart rider. When I got out to drive the cart an older man was questioning us because we had one golf bag. He also told us he’d be watching to make sure the cart rider didn’t play. I was fully aware of the rules and there was no need for him to be rude about it. Great course and very friendly older women but one rude person can change how I feel about it.
Second time playing at The Links
I played yesterday at the Links for the first time this year. Everything about the experience was great. The course is in great shape for the value. The only issue I ran into was a closed tee box for renovations which isn’t really a negative as it shows that the clubhouse greatly cares about the condition of the course. The only thought I have is that I wish the course could be a bit cheaper for students. It seems like the courses in Norman and OKC are much more expensive than Tulsa where I grew up, so the price is understood. Maybe a twilight time price could be good for students. Outside of that, the course is great and the staff is extremely kind.
Denied rain check
We purchased our GolfNow tee-time the day before we played. Check in was fine and we were able to tee off a few minutes early. By the time we finished the 2nd hole the group behind us yelled at us that we needed to pick up the pace. We had a 1st time player with us and were actually planning on letting them play through. I am pretty sure they tee'd off about 15 minutes before their tee-time and almost played into us on the 1st hole. Pretty rude. After we let their 3 groups that were all "together" play through we played the 3rd hole and then the downpour started. We went to the clubhouse and looked at the radar. It looked like at least and hour and a half delay. We asked for a raincheck due to several in the group who had to pick up their kids at 5:00. They told us no because "rain was in the forecast." I've never heard of that excuse before. Rain being in the forecast doesn't mean there's going to be a torrential downpour with tons of lightning. We decided to try and wait it out and were finally able to resume play after over 2 hours of waiting. Because of the delay we were only able to play nine holes on a course that had huge puddles of water on the greens and in the fairways. When I turned in my cart key I told the lady at the pro shop that we most likely would not be back since we only got to play nine holes and they wouldn't give us a rain check. She tried to argue with me and I told her that they can have whatever policy they want but I will not be wasting more money in their customer service is poor. I know me being a customer probably does not matter to them as they seem to only care about their members but I won't be back.

Poor condition
Staff very friendly. Challenging layout but course was in poor condition
Not worth it
Not worth the price they make you pay. They will squeeze as much money from you as possible. Managerial staff is very rude and entitled while desk staff is excellent.
A lot to be desired - but cheap!
Desired for $25 a person on Tee time we would give this a shot. Not too busy for a Saturday (I know why now). Fairways rough, little grass (it’s May 7th!) and weeds everywhere. Greens are exceptionally small but in decent shape and best part of the course. Cold sandwiches after front nine (they have a grill) and no Beer sales!! Hmm. For the money with a cart totally on the cheap but I won’t be returning whatever that means to the reader. Best of luck.
I love Norman links
Not much watering going on the course at present time. Lots of dry tee boxes and fairways making approaches and chip shots difficult to control. Greens are still healing from aeration punches but super fast with very little break besides the slopes and undulations. Overall I still enjoy this course very much and look forward to playing it more.
