Willow Springs Golf Course in Haslet, Texas is famous for having two sets of greens for each hole, used to maintain the best possible conditions depending on the season -- one for the winter, and one for the summer. This track plays just over 6,100 yards and offers a full 18 holes to the golfing public. The opening hole is the most difficult -- it's the only 400-yard-plus par 4 on the course. Nothing wrong with a bogey on this first hole, since it plays 446 yards. Willow Springs' back nine features two very birdie-able par 3s, as well as a 436-yard par 5 and a 280-yard par 4 that play back-to-back.

Greens horrible
Need to fix the greens. The bunkers. And please pour concrete for the back nine cart paths. Driving over mud when it rains is ridiculous. If your going to leave it like that then lower the price big time.
Short course with tough greens
The layout of the course is great; however, if you hit your drive more than 250 you will find yourself using a lob wedge on most of your second shots. The greens are nice and seemingly inviting but all of them were built up on a mound so if you were not on the green you were trying to chip up the hill. I had one of my best rounds ever playing so of course I will come back but I was a little disappointed in the lack of iron shots that were really needed.
I love the fact that the course plays music near the driving range and practice green.
This place is a dump
In spite of recent rain in the area, the course green was in bad shape. It was dry and bumpy. the course condition was poor. The staff was not friendly at all. The course Marshall was totally clueless as groups starting at 10th green instead of 1st green. People jumping holes and causing wait for others. I will never play this course again.
The wind won that round
One of our favorite local courses. You can usually get on here when everything else is booked up. A great course for walkers.
Friendly course
The topogrraphy of this courseis quite flat but the layout is somewhat confusing with inadequate direction signage. Otherwise everything was fine, price was good and staff were very helpful.
Fun course
Paid $22.00 which was worth it. Since it was the weekend and the line in the pro shop was a bit long we were anticipating a long round as it has happened in the past . We were surprised that we(a twosome) were able to get 18 holes completed in 4 hrs. The greens were quicker than expected the fairways a bit rough (but we paid $22). We were basically out to dust off the clubs and be out in the nice weather and we had a good experience. We were a bit surprised that there was not a beverage cart out on a Saturday though. It’s not a TPC course but it’s a fun course that met our needs at a reasonable price.
Why so serious?
I have played here a handful of times, and the staff has proven to be more of a chore than the course itself. The fairways are hard pack, and the greens are bumpy. Thankfully not as bumpy as the Dukes of Hazzard cart paths.
The staff...
I once had tee time though Golf Now, and for whatever reason, it hadn't shown up in their system.
No problem, I'll just show him my confirmation email with the time/number of golfers. Nope, he wanted to see how much we had paid per person, since he didn't believe I got a $12 hot deal on Labor Day weekend. "I don't see it being that cheap." So I spend 15 minutes on hold with Golf Now trying to sort it out, only to finally convince him after showing him my bank statement!!!!
Fast forward to this past Friday. 2 of us teed off at 1:25 and played behind a slow 4some the entire round. No big deal, we're both beginners anyways, we can take our time and play a little slower.
At 5:05 (at least 30 min of light left) while approaching 16s green, the LURKING course marshall rolls up to us and says "This is your last hole." No explanation or reason given. "Why, are y'all closing up early?" "Yeah."
So with 2 holes to go, we were basically kicked off the course.
A course for the "just out for fun" folks.
Nice staff, lots of not so serious golfers in denim no collars- no big deal- just saying, reasonable warm up area, nice course layout. Greens are hard to describe, they appear good, but have a hardy grass, Not sure the type- was a little bumpy but playable- not bad. Very good new carts. I would not take a client there, but for sure bring my son out to play here. If your not in a hurry it will work, I had close to a 5 hour round- stacked on each hole. It was a beautiful day for golf though, prob just busier than usual.
nice but slow day
We did not get to finish our round due to a tournament that had started before we got there.
Over priced
I've been playing this course for 25 years.
I haven't played it in a couple years because of the price. You can play most courses in the area for the same price. The fairways are rock hard. There were only 3 or 4 groups on the course. We played it in 2 1/2 hours. Willow springs needs to have a $20 after noon special and fill the course up.
So sad.. many memories on this course
Don't bother
Against my own good judgment I decided to play this course again since there was a deal for $12. Not even worth that low price. The greens looked like they just mowed the fairway really short. No way of reading a putt. Some greens were super slow, others played like Augusta (without the true roll). The grass outside of the fairways were unmowed Johnson grass that was so long it had gone to seed. The gravel 'cart paths' were like a washboard. I couldn't recommend this course any less. Avoid at all costs.
Enjoying the good life
Noon tee off so it was hot but plenty of water on the course. Greens were OK. Pace of play was good. More water than I remember since it has been 8 years since I played here. Nice course I played with my son. Seemed like the Marshall was following us . Used Golfnow.
Pace of play does not exist
Pros:
Great course for all skill levels
Great staff
Nice range and practice green
Nice carts
Cons:
Some greens are iffy
And finally pace of play is atrocious we had a double myself and 2 foursomes waiting to tee off on the fourth hole took a little under 3 hours to play 7 holes I had to leave early because I could not handle it anymore
Fun Day
Enjoyed playing this course. There is a lot of water but it was a fun day of golf.
Willow Springs
Poor conditions. No grass. Bad greens and slow play. Had to play behind a group of 6. Cheap beer was a plus but I won't go back. I need a positive golf experience.
