Not worth the $20 to play
Our tee time was 1145 and due to weather coming in, we called and asked if we could tee off a little earlier. Since we booked on Golf Now, we would told that would not be possible. With a little sweet talking, we were allowed to come over early to see if they had space. When we arrived, there was NO ONE on the course. And I mean not another person around. The person then gave us some attitude about how this never happens and we should never expect it again. So off we go at 1015. The course was not kept up at all. It was somewhat overgrown about everywhere. The only positive thing I can actually say is the greens were nice. No fungus growth and they were cut nicely. Tee boxes were not kept up and fairways were poor. When we finished the round we asked what the cost would be to replay another 9. We were told it would be another $20 since the usual cost is $40 to play. I found that unreasonable since we were already on the carts and there was no one else there. So overall, I would not recommend this course to anyone who actually want to get a fun round in.
Never Again
Under no circumstances would I ever return to this course. Absolutely terrible shape, management was unhelpful and tried to make us give our carts back after 9 holes when we paid to play 18. I’ve seen courses that are shut down in better condition than this one. Save your money!
PLAY GOLF AMERICA
Respect the Golf course , Golf course respect you. It lives, and breaths just like we do , whether we like it or not. Golf teaches us so many things.
The End
Felt sad playing, being told this course is closing for good on 08/01. About the 25th course that has closed in central Florida over the last 5 years
The gentleman in the pro shop running the place by himself was a rock star! He was doing everything he could to make the best of things and service the customers.
Greens were playable. Course was cut, bunkers raked. Fairways were burnt out though, but nice at times to get an extra 40 on a drive.
Its a good course.
Normal rates are too expensive for what it is but twilight price is decent.
Great Layout Great Price Fair Condition
A terrific layout course just needs watering to allow the grass to return. Very dry conditions at this time which has hurt the grass thickness in many areas. Greens have some issues but flag placements were in the good areas on the greens. Great course to get out for reasonable cost and challenge your skil
ls on.
Horrible Course. DO NOT WASTE TIME AND MONEY!
Could not tell the difference between the fairways, roughs, and even the putting greens. The manager Mike had a bad attitude with me for some odd reason. This course should be a $10 course not $20 or more.
Golf Review
Golf course is nice , greens are really nice , pace pf play was excellent no complaints.
A Revisit Worth Revisiting
Everyone who reviews these course do so on a personal basis. I do follow them but sometimes have to judge for myself. Going back to Eastwood I was pessimistic but found the course not as bad as some reviews. Love that the course wasn't crowded as most that I have visited are this time of year. Some tee boxes were in rough shape but I could find a decent area to use. Fairways weren't as bad as some of the more "better reviewed" courses although there were plenty of weeds on most of them. Greens were the best aspect of the course although far from perfect. Still, most putts were unaffected by some dry spots and ran decent. All in all I enjoyed the round and recommend this course for anyone looking to get in a good round at a decent course. It's not Shingle Creek or LPGA but it doesn't carry the price tag either. Depending on what you want from a course you can take this review at your discretion.
Not like it use to be
In a pinch and for golf less than 30 dollars this course will do. It’s falling apart because it’s going to have homes built on it. It does not compare to Stoneybrook and the prices are the same. The staff is great and the friendliest people I talked to all day. Play Ventura or Rio Pinar if the prices are the same.
greens spotty
Greens were spotty in places, but putted at a good pace. Fairways and tees were lacking grass in places, but it is Fla in the winter. Course does not overseed.
Great layout
The course is very challenging, lots of water, lots of doglegs, green are slow and patchy is spots.
The course has a great layout . Pace of play was under 4 hrs very good.. Very windy day but enjoyed the course.
I will play again.
Too Many Twosomes
We played here about 4 years ago and remember coming away with a somewhat bad feeling because of the adverse weather conditions at the time. After reading recent glowing reviews we decided to give it another try and were pleasantly pleased. The fairways were in great shape. The greens roled true and showed hardly any ball marks. And, although the scorecard shows lots of water it was barely a factor on any of the fairways.
The staff were friendly just not quite savy in the ways of patron management. We got there early and were told to follow a twosome that had just gone out. Arriving at the first tee we discovered another twosome was on the green while the one ahead of us was waiting in the fairway. This went on throughout the 18 holes. At the turn we decided to kill some time visiting the facilities only to come out to find 3 twosomes backed up at #10 tee, with ours making 4 and another behind us made 5. The backup was caused by a foursome, two singles and 4 twosomes starting on the back 9 at about the same time. It seems the guys in the pro shop should have made foursomes out of several of the twosomes.
After enjoying our play on the front nine we were sadly told (while waiting in line at #10 tee) that the course is scheduled to close in August of this year. It's a subdivision country club course with another (Stoneybrook East) literally across the street. So this may be the last time we get to play here. It was fun while it lasted.
