Good course for the money
Played the course after a few days of rain and it was surprisingly well drained. A few of the greens were a bit fuzzy and bumpy. Possible grass issue. But overall a great bang for your buck.
Fairways
The fairways are mostly bare. Hitting off hard pan 75% of the time. The greens were in pretty good condition
Barren lies, No Imagination Required
I was very excited to go play Bear Creek. However, I was unaware that the Presidents course wouldn't have sand; that it would have barely any water and that the course itself doesn't know what dogleg means. 43 dollars for a tee time there is far too much. It played like a 25 dollar municipal course. Course did not turn once, and was far too easy. I understand it's January, but if you're gonna charge that much, why note keep the course in some sort of shape.
Good enough for a quick round.
This course is very basic with few hazards and very little out of bounds coming into play. The greens were a little slow but in pretty good shape. The fairways were generally good but there were multiple bare spots on some holes. The rough was good in terms of being filled in, but not very difficult to hit out of. It was a kind of cold and windy day but the course had a lot of players. Still we finished in 3-1/2 hours.
President
Course was in good shape. Always somebody in front of you and behind you. They had a lot of single players playing by themselves.
Love Golf
They paired me up with a member of the Bear Creek course. He was 86 and a wonderful match. We played with a father -son. We all had a great time together.
Beginners Course
This is a great course for beginners with great features. This course can be used to build golf game confidence.
Good value for money
President's course play well and great value for the money.
This course has challenge
I like the course overall but missing the sand bunkers they should consider in rebuild the bunkers and fairway has too many spots with out grass, the greens are good but with some weeds.
Presidents course is great fun with friends
The Presidents course is probably the straightest course I have ever played but if you are playing with friends and want to break out the driver on most holes than you will have great time. Staff is friendly and even on a beautiful day we had no problem getting off and not feeling rushed.
Only downside is that the putting green could be better maintained. We missed a few putts just because the the surface was in poor condition.
Overall I would make the drive again to play.
Good time
Forgiving course. Greens a bit inconsistent, but noreal complaints. Love a course that keeps you in play. Makes you love the game and lowers that frustration level. Nothing better than a day of golf with good friends! Coming back!
Not the best day to Play
Played on a Thursday 10-16-2014. I DID NOT like that they allowed Fivesomes group on the course. I think the max group size should be 4 players and NOT 5 people per group. If this continues, i will be forced to play else were!!
enjoyable round
This course is very wide open so forgiving for wide shots. The greens where in good shape and (except for the group ahead dragging their feet) rolled well. Overall a very fun course.
Golf course for all skills (Challenger)
Although the par is short to 72, there is all kind of skill needed to finish par on this course. It is great for the beginner and the casual golfer to try all kind of swings. Would definitely recommend!
This course is well taken care of!
This is the first time my son and I have played Bear Creek President's course. The course is so well taken care of. We had such an enjoyable day of golf!
course better than expected
After reading other reviews, I was worried about the green and fairway conditions. Though there were some fairway bald spots, they were in generally pretty good shape. The greens were slow but in also in good shape.
I would recommend this course for novice to intermediate golfers as there are not a lot of trouble spots.
Don't expect this course to be swank country club, it is a public course that is generally priced rather low without many hazards. My expectations were not that high and the course exceeded my expectations. We went on a Sunday afternoon, and the course was busy but not packed. We finished our round on Presidents in about 3hr 15 minutes which was very fast for us. The fast play was likely due to the course being wide open and we could find our errant shots without difficulty. It was a good place to practice on the game!
the masters a challenging course
very decent golf course greens were running a little slow but that helped us when we chipped you didn't get too much release fairways were nice overall very nice track fairways were tight must keep driver in fairway lot of trees left and right no sand bunkers but still challenging
Very wide open, greens need work
The course Is extrmeley wide open without much hazard, which is nice when your as eratic out of the tee box as I am. You usually have a look at the hole so arent penalized much for bad tee shots. Its pretty dry, but this could just be because the Houston summer. The greens need a lot of work. I would compare them to those at a local driving range by me, and Ive actually seen better greens at driving ranges. They play extrmeley slow and some have big areas of sand on them. Overall its a great practice course for someone like my self who hasnt played in a long time and is looking to practice and improve their golf game. For someone with a low handicap, who plays often, I would probably look elsewhere. I only played the Presiadents course, so i cant speak for the Challenger or the Masters course.
Do the have a green keeper
I've played there recently about 3 times and the course conditions are poor. The last time there were tee boxes where you might as well tee it up in bunker. If this is the best at Bear Creek then goodness knows what the other two are like. I won't be going back there agin until the conditions improve. The Masters course borders on being the second worst course I've played in the Houston area.
