One of my go to courses in Houston
Jersey Meadow has been a staple in my rotation for the past year. The club house is still under renovation, so it lacks a full menu at the turn currently.
Of the dozen or so times I’ve been there. I’ve only hit off the grass on the range once. So be prepared for hitting off a mat to warm up. The practice green is was in rough shape this time around.
Overall the course is moderately challenging (3.5/5) and several holes drive you to focus on course management. The greens are hit and miss. This time around they were inconsistent and in repair (3.2/5).
This is a beginner friendly course and I have played with several friends who are just getting into golf there. Another plus is there is an excellent brewery down the road (Senate Ave. Brewery).
I can’t wait to see the course when the club house is done and hoping this year the green conditions improve. I will undoubtedly play here again.
It’s winter and we have had a lot of rain but clearly course money is going to the new club house and not to the greens. I have no hope this course will be in good shape by spring
Greens can be very quick downhill, not bad for the money
It's what you can expect being lower cost in the area The starter is a little over the top controlling with attitude, but other staff was very pleasant and nice to deal with.
I like fast greens and even though they're not perfect, they rolled nice. Unfortunately number 11 pin placement was on crest of hill with strong winds blowing the ball, not being able to stop it at the hole, would roll back down the hill 12' to try again. Please educate whomever is putting pins in, that was just lack of knowledge considering winds that day. Nobody in our 4some could stop it 2" from cup. The guy I teamed up with 6 putted and was only 4 over at that point. They have practice mats which I don't like as golfing is off turf, you should allow both options.
Overall worth the money and I'll be back.
Much Improvement
Much improvement since I’ve last played here. Can’t beat the price and the improvements make it that much better.
Great Course for the Money (Fire Deal)
Overall a great course for a sub $50 round. I played the day after a big rain and the conditions were pretty great all things considered. The greens were alright, some good, some not so good.
First Timer
Course condition for November was less than average. Fairways were ok, Greens certainly less than average.
Staff were friendly and professional.
Paid $65.00 for 18 holes which was high for this time of year and course condition, a more reasonable rate would have been $40.00.
DON’T PLAY- SAVE YOUR MONEY
What a dump. This is absolutely the worst golf course. I’ve played in a month in Houston. Including Munich courses. 2/3 of the greens are dirt. The fairways bunch of bear spots and they charged $70 for this. What a rip off. So many better options than here. Shame on management for trying to rip the public off and not disclose how bad shape the course is. I don’t leave reviews ever. That’s how bad this is.
This course sucks! Avoid at all cost!
This is officially the worst course in Houston. Avoid it at all cost. I don’t know why I even tried giving them another chance, but it was literally the only course with availability, and I quickly realized why. First, the course is in terrible condition, with half the greens ate up and two wholes all together were completely messed up. The biggest issue here though was the staff. It’s like they hate their lives. They are just the rudest staff I’ve ever encountered. We started behind a group of 6, then at the turn, it went down to 3, then somehow back up to 5. The group then sent the Marshall back to address us “hitting into them” which we 100% did not. In fact we were waiting for nearly 10 mins on every hole to clear since they obviously couldn’t hit the ball. We finally found out when two of the holes crossed tee to green that it was a staff member /club pro at the course (Hispanic guy) and he threatened to have us kicked off the course. I couldn’t believe it. Like for what? Thankfully we were already on hole 17 by then but regardless, when we asked to pass, he said absolutely not. This wasn’t the first time I’ve had a terrible experience at this course. More importantly this individual. This was the last time I will ever play this course, and I highly suggest taking spending your money at a much nicer course. .
It's nice because it's close to home and well maintained.
The fairway grass was in good condition and the green was a little slow, but it was nice to have a fun weekend.
Construction of the new club house is messing up the access to and play on this course. Entrance from Jersey Meadow Dr. is blocked. Parking lot is hard to maneuver in/out. No access at the turn (#9/#10) to club house for drink/food or bathroom. I will avoid this course until the construction is done, which i was told could take a year.
