Great layout but not in great condition right now
Great layout but not in great condition right now. Greens are Ok but fairways and areas around the green have some thin spots.
Not good
This course isn't any fun. It's wide open, with fairway next to fairway. No separation, no challenge. Just not really that good at all. Everything is flat and plain. Courses get crowded, busy and slow. Played a 4-hour round that should have only been 3 hours. This was a last option for me on this day and I would have rather paid more money elsewhere. I'm not even a good golfer. I just like to get out and have a good time but this course presented no challenge or any sort of skill. I highly don't recommend this course.
The Course
The green was not smooth and the fairway was not in the best condition.
Maxnupe
Cart stop and stalled 2x. The front 9 greens were not good...back nine a little better. Recommend redirecting players to back nine for replay while superintendent work on front nine greens
Do Not Waste Your Time
This is the worst golf course I have ever been to. It is so bad that it is not worth the laundry list of complaints.
poor greens
The greens were unplayable. You were lucky to have a 2 foot putt that did not have to go thru a rut. There was no evidence that the greens would be improving, at least not in the near future. It is one thing to have slow greens but it is all together to have greens that are rough and bumpy and uneven. If you can not putt play here because no one else will be able to either.
Could be good but needs a lot of help
This could be a very good course; and we're told it once was. Nice layout, long if you want it, and plenty of hazards to manage. But the condition is suffering. Desperately needs investment. In fairness its only early Feb.
But almost every green has extensive disease and pock marks. Fairways are very patchy, very low cut, and with lots of bare spots. Cart paths have extensive damage. Members are aren't helping, with plenty of ball marks and divots left unattended.
Two annoyances - range closes at 3:30 on Wed's and kitchen closes early as well. Parking lot was full and kitchen was closed?
Good example of 'you get way you pay for'. But hey - its Feb and it was just good to be out.
Slow. Slow. Slow.
Went to play by myself on a Monday afternoon. I chose this course above some of the others I usually go to because of the price (you can't beat paying $19 to play alone). The staff in the clubhouse were friendly and helped out and same with the employee working the starter shack but that's about all I can say was decent about the course. Tee boxes had deeper grass than the rough, the greens were far beyond unputtable, every sand trap was filled in with grass, and that's what you get to play on after following a group of 3 that looked like they were hitting rocks with a pvc pipe instead of playing golf. I normally can play a round with my dad and brother in three and a half to four hours so obviously it should be a little faster playing alone, nope. Took me over 4 hours playing behind group after group that insisted on talking rather than playing golf. Not to mention the fact they would use a mulligan on EVERY tee shot. Maybe it's just me but golf etiquette normally says to let a single play through but I guess not when playing here. I kept telling myself it's fine and I only paid $19 to play but after I was done I realized what a waste of money that is. Pay another $10 and go somewhere else or just go to the driving range, both would be better options than playing here.
Not a good green
This is anoche golf course but needs to work ok the green
poor management
We had reservation for Masters.
But we couldn't play golf at Masters. We had to play at different course with too many players.
average everyday golf course
this is an average course overpriced for the conditions of the greens and carts and the tee boxes were by far the worst I've ever played on if they lowered the price it might be ok for a practice round I took my nephew to play to try to get him into the game and I think it was harder putting in teaching him techniques when the ball does not roll we paid $93 for two rounds of golf and one bucket of balls way overpricedthe cart path is so bumpy it spilled our drinks knocked our bags out of the golf cartthings need to be updated for this price
Tired after 4 hours
Wish I would have known that's tournament was going on. After 4 hours, only made it to the 10 hole. I decided to call it the day
Bear Creek Masters
Six hour round they put us behind an outing. Probably will not use golf now again
First time Bear Creek Master
The Bear Creek staff were great.
This is a very big and busy golf complex, because there are three 18 holes courses. The Master course does not have sand bunkers but don't be fooled grass bunkers are not easy. This course gets heavy traffic so the greens range from not so good to pretty good.
The pace of the greens were very consistent, I like that. For a large public golf complex it is very good.
Good course
This course is challenging with some good dog leg holes and challenging par 3's.
High price for the product delivered
When I arrived the staff was fantastic, and they let me know that the price for the Masters was $62.00, but on Golf Now it was $34.75. I had to go through Golf Now, no big deal. When we got to the first green I was surprised how bad the green was, and said I would have been upset at $62, not real happy with $34.75. There was no warning from the shop that the greens were so full of weeds. Grant it that was the worst one , but they were all in poor shape.
The other frustrating part was no marshaling. The time was not awful, but the course would have flowed more consistently if there was someone watching over and pairing people up.
Bear Creek Golf World is not a value
We played the Presidents Course. It is very easy par 72. There are no sand traps, trees or water hazards to contend with. I booked though Golf Now and paid $43 for the round--it was not a good value for the quality of the course. I recommend you pay the extra dough and play one of the nicer, more challenging courses in the area.
