Has been better
Not what it was a year ago. #1 green was 30 % invasive weeds and fairways are weak in many areas, weeds and sandy areas due to past major floods that forced a grass bunker only conversion. A real shame, this public course was as good as Memorial not that long ago.
Enough Vakue for the $$
Greens were a bit rough and large portions of the fairway had thinned out grass and very dry. Can't complain too much since I played mid-August in the afternoon. Paid $30 thru golfnow.com for 18 holes on the Masters course, so there was enough value in the course for the cost. Staff at the range and on the course were perfectly friendly without being overbearing. Will play again. Good value course if discounted a bit below the published rates on their website.
Very slow greens
The course was in very nice condition except that the greens were very much slower than I am used to. I had a difficult time getting the ball to the hole. A very busy course and though the pace was pretty slow we managed to play in 4 1/2 hours even with two guys that shot around 120 or 130. Two of the worst golfers I have seen playing the BLUE tees. Hint: if you can't hit a worm-burner drive farther than 80 yards move up to the White tees. My wife consistently hit the fairway and outdrove them both and she had a "fair" day shooting 104. She picks up when she reaches her maximum. She is a relatively new player, takes lessons and is a 24 handicap.
Bad Golf
Course was not great. Starter had no idea what he was doing. Took more than 2 hours just to play the front 9. At least 3 groups on just one hole. Conditions were bad. Ground was hard. Greens were slow. I wouldn't go back.
Nice course
This course is good for amateurs and intermediate golfers. Course is wide open giving the golfer opportunities to score low and recover from a poor drive. Great conditions. Excellent price.
Bear Creek Masters
Course was in great shape relative to recent, previous rounds on the masters. Rough was rough and greens in much better condition (although slow). Pace of play was major problem. Overbooked but possibly regular Saturday morning. Even pro shop took forever to check in. Will not play on course weekends anytime soon.
Upscale Muni and a good value
The course conditions are fair, greens slow and a bit bumpy but at the price we paid through GolfNow.com it was worth it. The pace of play was good and clubhouse is avg. and dated. Nothing that really wants to would attract me other than the value.
average
Masters is the best course. Its usually packed! Fun
Course poorly maintained
I have played this course on and off for over 15 years. I have never seen the course in such a poor condition.
Will not play again
Course was horrible, too expensive for the course like this.
good layout!
The layout of this course is nice. The course is in fair condition. It needs some tlc. Most of the water hazards were dried up leaving an unsatisfying look. The fairways have a lot of bare spots on them. Maintenance crew was out spraying chemicals on the greens right in front of us. Another maintenance worker was putting ropes up right in front of us and would not move till they were done while we waited on the tee box to hit. Driving range closed so no warm up before. Not a big deal.
Not the same as I remember
I played this course back in the late 90"s and it was awesome with all the sand traps and lush grass... No sand now, the fairways are more like hardpan, greens very patchy. Disappointed
This course has bad greens.
Greens were in bad condition. Would not go again until it gets better.
Fix the GREENS
The Greens are full of weeds and different types of grass. It is like putting on a dirt road. They should also fix the cart paths,.
great price
played the masters course but most of the greens were in bad shape.
Not worthy for the $.... I played both courses (Masters and President)
The course condition was very poor. The fairway was also in a poor condition no grass in some cases, As result, the dust condition was horrible specially if you don’t have shades.
Great
I play here on average 3 times a week, the 39.99 membership is great, unlimited range balls and course clinics. The Presidents has wide open Fairways for those that don't hit the ball as straight as they should. You should be just fine for your approach shot. Greens are ok at best but for $10 they are just fine! Great course to play for fun or to work on your strategy!
Rediculously Slow Play
While I understand that it was a BEAUTIFUL day and that everyone wanted to be out enjoying the weather, the play was EXTREMELY slow. It wasn't enough that the tee times were stacked on top of one another but that the course also allowed walkers to play in the peak of all the madness. We were held up the entire day by a foursome with a walker that seemed to have no sense of urgency or golf etiquette. You would think management would capitalize on occurrences such as this by providing their beer cart girls a chance to make some fat bank and giving the waiting groups something to do to pass the time. We saw one beer cart girl during the eight hours of wait and play. GREAT JOB BEAR CREEK MANAGEMENT!! That's one sure way to run off customers.
Dont go on a tournament day
I book my round thinking what a value, I soon found out what a mistake. I wish they listed that that had a tournament going on, I would not have booked it yesterday!!!
