Shadow of former self
The Masters is supposed to be the best of the 3 courses at Bear Creek, however the course has deteriorated in recent years. We were very disappointed to find maintenance of the track so poor. Bone jolting cart paths, near-empty water hazards and once beautiful sand traps now just grassy craters.
The course has fair features
The needs more sand bunker. The greens are in fair shape.
This course has a good value for the dollar.
We played a threesome on Saturday afternoon on the Masters and finished in 4.25 hours. The course is a good challenge for a hacker and is in decent shape.
drought issues
Fairways were dry and hardly had any green grass or none at all...the greens were in good condition beside a whole lot of spike marks
Greens were good, fairways were dry and cart paths need repair.
I here 3 to 5 times a year and I have seen it flood and dry, staff always brings it back to playable conditions. Always enjoy it and will come back again. We got on a GolfNow special of $12 person om the Masters course which is a great value.
very poor
the course was very very dry needed a lot of attention and for some reason it was crowded ? but will be 1 less person for now on thanks
Masters course: No bunkers or water
Course would have been good if hazards were in play. They've let grass grow over the bunkers and most water hazards are dried up to where you can walk down and hit a normal shot. This made the course too simple and not interesting enough. Greens were slow, but in looked to be healthy. Tee boxes weren't level, but Im not as much a stickler on that as some.
In the end, at the pricepoint (48 for weekend AM), I can't recommend it. I can put up with it for 20 or so, but that's too expensive to not be better maintained.
Torn up! Do not waste your money!
This course is flat out awful! Do not waste your money by playing on this dirt track. This course should close until they restore playable conditions. Even little things like the tee boxes are in awful shape. On all of the par 3's you better be prepared to hit from sand/dirt since that's all there is. Horrible horrible condition. You've been warned.
Not Bad But
This isn't a bad course but the fairways were really dry. Tee boxes uneven and need cutting along with the greens. The cost was cheap...so that was not bad.
Torn Up
The course gets very dry but they are not watering the tee Boxes and they are very torn uo. The fairways are ok but a little bare in place. The greens arnt bad but very slow.
Slow bumpy greens.
The greens were very slow and the ball bounced more than it rolled. Tough to score very well when a putt does nothing you expect it too, and any put over 25 feet you might as well putt with your 3 wood. Club house personnel were a little to be desired, however the marshals, starter, cart girls, and bartender were all very nice and respectfull. It would have been nice to see more grass on the fairways as well. We are in a drought, but the course was not very well kept up. For the price, there are much better courses around to play.
It was ok...
All the greens were in good shape but the not all fairways were and the cart paths were in poor shape. It is not a difficult course and is good for the novice golfer to shoot lower than normal.
No real challenging, could be a better test
This course could have better grass on the course, the greens are really really slow they seem to leave them cut high. I your new playing golf this would be a good learning course.
Good Value and Challenge
The course was maintained nicely, but the pace of play was slow. challenging course with various hazards, but they had NO Bunkers. Overall, I would recommend this course! Wish they had bunkers though...
Great course to play
My son and I were looking for a great course to play near Katy and found the Masters at Bear Creek to be exactly that. We rode but the course was flat enough for walking. Water was present but not overly so -- some bunkers being grass rather than sand was welcome. The greens were a little slower than expected, but I had just played in AZ where the green speeds are much higher. I look forward to playing this course again when I next visit my son.
Good course
Good course sums it up. Not spectacular or excellent. I wish there were bunkers on the masters course. It would add to the level off difficulty and test your up and down skills. All in all It was a fun course to play
Course was in ok shape.
The course was a little wet from rain and the wait on the course was kind of long, but I went not planning on finishing. The greens were a little slow but it was sticking on approach shots. All in all, not bad for the price at 3:00
