Redfield GC
course was in wonderful shape considering we'd had 5 inches of rain in the last 3 days
Fun Course
Fun course, great value, nice conditions. 20 mins from the lake, half the price and just as nice or nicer than a lot of the lake courses.
very nice course
Fairways & greens in excellent shape, have played the
course twice. BEAUTIFUL lay-out, not difficult, but enjoyable. Staff very cordial & a real nice facility & restaurant.
A local "tourist" course for those looking for an enjoyable round of golf
I've played this course, on average, about once a year since shortly after it opened. I group it with similarly-designed "tourist courses" that I have played over the years ... nice conditions, attractive, and not too difficult.
As long as you don't spray the ball too far offline, you can score well on this course, although it offers enough interesting challenges to keep you on your toes ... a multi-level green on a short par 3 over water ... a short dogleg par 4 that requires accurate length off the tee for an open second shot ... holes that bend both left and right, and to varying degrees.
However, if you DO spray the ball, you stand to lose a lot of golf balls ... there are a few ponds and such, but the primary danger is the tall links-style fescue grass that borders and separates many of the holes ... if you hit into that, you had better have a very accurate reference point if you want to find the ball ... and you'll want to hit a provisional, because those areas are not hazards.
All it all, it's worth a bit longer trip than I usually am willing to make to play a round of golf, and I'll keep visiting as long as they keep it that way.
Note: there was a mix-up the last time we (my son and I) played ... the person in the clubhouse sent us off #1 at 10:30am without telling us that we needed to be off #18 tee by 2pm due to a shotgun start that would use 1, 18, 17, 16, etc. (i.e., they probably should have sent us off #10). Another employee told us about it at the turn, so we kept up our pace until we ran into a fivesome on 15, but fortunately we were able to hit our tee shots on 18 at precisely 2pm and finished without incident.
Nice course, good condition
Redfield is a nice golf course with a variety of holes. Most of the course is open allowing for some errant shots without losing balls. Greens were ok. Only problem with the course is the distance from Jefferson City.......25-30 minutes to get there.
Redfield golf excellent
Was a great course and day to play golf. Would come back next week.
good course for the average golfer and beginners
this is a good wide open course for the average golfer and also would be good for beginner golfers. a very good course for the price. good value.
Great golf for the price!
One of the better golf experiences you'll find for the price... Very healthy grass all around.
Things of note: Relatively easy course. Mostly short and open, thus fairly forgiving on most spread tee shots. Most open in the off-season when native grass is burned short. Much less open during the season when native grass is tall. The native will swallow a wide tee shot. There is an added challenge with "small" and "sloped" greens with large surrounding bunkers. Some approach shots were very difficult to stick close. Will feel windier than most lake courses with no ridges or hills to block any breeze...
Overall a great experience!
Great Course, Super Price
Course is great for players of all skill levels. It was in great shape and everyone was friendly, staff and other players. We had a great day!!! Highly recommend this course.
Great Course
This was the fourth time playing Redfield (all this fall). It is certainly worth the 28 mile drive up from Osage Beach. The greens are superb and the fairways are very lush. There are no trees, but there is deep heather well off the fairways. Other than some forced water carries, the heather is the only way to lose a ball. IMO, Redfield stacks up well against Osage National, which is the highest rated course in the Lake of the Ozarks area.
good times
Had a great time enjoy the savings will play again
good freindly staffs
Red field Golf
Golf course was in great shape, minus the greens being sand covered. That's why we got the price we did. Any other time would be incredible. Type of course you can get your confidence up. Take out driver and go. Fun place to play. Enjoyed very much
Beautiful Golf Course
This course is located near Jefferson City and the Lake of the Ozarks. It is well worth the drive to experience this course.
Nice course!
This was my first 6 hour round of golf. Nothing to do with the course or other groups, everything to do with my 13 and 9 year olds who are new to golf. They had a lot of fun and did quite well for beginners.
The course is very well kept and was in great condition. There are limited trees which makes it look easier than it is because all of the very long, thick rough grass. You go in there and your ball is lost.
Nice clubhouse and food there too.
Nice course-Good Value
Wide open flat course. Friendly staff. Always enjoy playing here.
Value for the buck
I shot an 86 which is fare for me . An 86 with 6 penalty strokes. My partner was having a difficult day but enjoyed the course . The greens were slower than Im used to at my club. I putted extremely well. Putting is my weakness but these slow greens gave lots of forgiveness. Tee boxes were all in good shape fairways as well.
Over all experience was great.
Great golf experience
Had a good day on the course and it was in great condition. It provides several challenges and makes you have to place your ball to certain locations instead of just swinging away.
Redfield Great Course
Course is in very good condition. Greens good but were being damaged by young people playing on Wednesday. The group of young people were polite and did not cause any problem but do need to been instructed on repairing ball marks on green. Adults with the students need to be teaching them good golf practice. I did not see any adult showing them to or how to repair ball mark.
don't get above thehole!
We would play again! It was a challenge.
Workers were very hospitable.
