Texaco Country Club

This is the most peaceful course in the city. The staff could not be more friendly. Some of the greens aren't in great shape but you absolutely can't beat the value. This course has good bones and you need to bring your patience because this is where the greats used to play.

Played this course earlier after major flooding event and felt the course was in poor shape because of all the rain. But, in reality, it is in worse shape now. Not many courses where you can lose balls on the fairway or short rough. My best description of the course is that it is like playing out in the cow pasture where they have packed down the tee boxes such that it is nearly impossible to insert your tee, and if you do, you need to use a long tee to get your ball above the grass.

This place might've been nice when it was built in 1902, but that is no longer the case, Spend a Couple Extra Bucks and Go Somewhere Else. Unless of course you like hitting off of weeds from the fairways that resemble someone's scalped backyard... Just do yourself a favor and steer clear. You're welcome

I'm a neophyte and usually like to play at a slower pace. This course is perfect, as I was able to ride, but took my time to play each hole with careful planning. For the money, I'll play again.

It makes me sad to see a course that I've never played and know its been around for a long time in such bad conditions.
But here is the honest review for this course.
It needs up keeping on the greens, but ive seen courses in much worse conditions on the greens.

A lot of leaves, twigs, small debris on fairways
Cusual water, low collection areas for casual water.
Staff was all friendly and courteous!

For $15 (including cart/fees & taxes) come on!!

The staff was friendly and the course is fun with a few challenging holes, but it's not an overly tough course. However, the greens are in horrible shape and the fairways look like they haven't been mowed in a couple days. Two of the holes have been washed out from last month's flooding, so they were replaced with temporary greens to a different area. One of the holes was a par 5 and it was replaced by a short par 4, so the course is playing as a par 71. Sadly, the temporary greens were not any worse than the regular greens. But for the $12 hot deal price, it's basically proves the adage "You get what you pay for."

What would you expect for $10 dollars. Greens were in horrible shape. Fairways were hard as concrete as well as the tee boxes. This is the first time playing this course so I don't have anything else to compare it to.

If it was not for the price from Golf Now i definetly would ask for a REFUND.
The tee boxes had more grass on them then the fairways and the greens were just horrendous.

this course had the look of a course that needs much repair. did not use the sand traps, and the tee boxes were not mowed and its hard to hit a ball lower than the grass. all the fairways were covered with dead grass so you got little roll on your ball. I like this course and will come back later in the year and give it a try.

I not the first time that I play this course and every time is getting worse.
Greens in very bad condition, fairways, rough and surrounded areas missing mowed terrible bunkers if you can call them bunkers, missing grass on some tee boxes, greens are hard as concrete.
I really think that they should invest little more money on the course.

Had a hot deal from Golf Now for only $10 compared to the normal $20 price. For $10 it wasn't bad but I would not pay the normal rate to play there. Course conditions were very poor, yardage markers and tee signs were inaccurate or missing. Facilities were in poor shape. Was pretty empty when I was there so no problems with pace.

First time playing here didn't know what to expect. Friendly staff but the course is just awful. They do not take car of the grass, greens, tee box and etc... First hole the tee box ground was so hard I couldn't tee my ball up. Played about 3 holes and left just a horrible experience. And the pictures are not accurate at all. Nothing like the pictures

Played as a foursome on a Sunday afternoon but the course has many problems. Fairways need to be cut. Greens are hard and have many burned areas. Sand was like concrete. Hole number 11 still not playable.
