wasted day
front desk unfriendly, mumbled and could not understand him. No grass on fairways or greens. Very hardpacked A group of 5 slowed down whole course. Cart paths were crumbled up concrete in some areas. We played about 12 holes then left.
Water!
This course was fun to play albeit for a beginner was very challenging. The day we played the winds were gusty, but there was water everywhere. I deposited my fair share of balls in the water. Greens were very fast.
Lots of water
Greens are very fast and there is water everywhere. I shot a bad round, but it was mainly due to the wind today. There are restrooms located on each 9 that were clean enough for my wife to feel comfortable using. The front 9 is in better shape than the back 9 due to recent rains. Overall, I am looking forward to get back out there in the spring when everything greens up.
Know what you are getting into
The best thing about this course was the Hot Deal at 11:30 on a Sunday for $35. However it was not with that. We knew as soon as we drove by it was going to be bad, but had no idea all Greeks have 1”of sand on them and putting was worthless. We quit after 14 because there was a group of regulars playing a par 3 tournament for the masters with random tea boxes. No way we were going to wait even 5 minutes. Better just to head home. Wish it was much better so we could play when down at Cedar Creek lake but too disappointed to go back.
Poor Condition
Greens are all almost dead or in really bad shape. Course was cart path only and we didn’t find out until after paying.
Overall experience
Course was in good shape, greens were fast but a good challenge.
Great time
This course has improved considerably, we enjoy playing here often.
Kings Creek, good to see course improvements
Course is under new management. Noticeable signs of improvement: the greens are much improved, fairways are in better condition than in the past.
THE COURSE IS CLOSED…
I have played this course for a long time.. .its a shame you don’t know how that.
improved track
appreciate all the hard work done to get this course in shape
Interesting and enjoyable layout
Having never played this course, I understand the new owners have made great strides to get it back into playing condition. Kudos to them attempting this monumental task. The new direction is most present in the staff who are wholeheartedly trying to make this an enjoyable day . They are quite warm and welcoming in every respect. Having said that, there is a long road ahead to make this a destination course. The greens are quite bumpy and untrue, probably because the grass needs to grow in and develope. The cart paths are a wreck but fun to drive with tight turns and potholed/cracked sections that make it a 4 wheeling fun adventure. Enjoy the Disneyesque ride trying to keep on the narrow paths at full golf cart speed! Tee boxes are good with high weeds permeating the rough. There are plenty of lurking ponds and water hazards to keep you on your toes too! Tough terrain to tame indeed for reconstruction! Congrats for all of the improvements and I think they will achieve their goal based on the conviction and dedication I experienced. Do not pass up going to Slapping Good BBQ in Kemp afterwards. It's simply worth the drive with outstanding ribs, chopped brisket sandwiches, collards, pinto beans and great corn bread and deserts.
Great improvements under the dry circumstances
Since Rayme Shackelford has purchased the country club there have been great improvements made. The course is looking good and green are in decent shape. Can’t wait to see the finished product of hole 15. It is I work with grass and grounds upkeep and looking to be a better play than it has been in the past. Good course and staff and food. Great job to Rayme and the staff for turning this course around.
