The best in Egypt by far

The Allegria is a leader in Golf in Egypt and has raised the bar for golf in Egypt and has transformed a round of golf into an experience. A fantastic course which is a joy to play and is always in immaculate condition, in particular the greens.

Add to a fantastic course Troon Golf management, phenomenal service and personal touches and you can see why The Allegria is voted the best course in Egypt.

If you're coming to Cairo, The Allegria should be right on top of your list.

Golf on the west side of cairo

The Allegria is a Greg Norman signature 18 hole course inside a gated upscale residential community. It’s been open for about 5 years and head greens keeper Will Evans has in in a world class condition one can say they have the best greens in Egypt. They have quite a few teaching professionals and a world class state of the art academy with all the electronic bells and whistles.
Most notably they have Ms. Naela El Attar a certified PGA professional from California who was on the LPGA tour on staff and has many in Cairo seeking her out for swing improvements and she does miracles. When the club first opened Troon has sent in American professionals to manage the place but with the revolution Troon has replaced them with local hired expats who lack management experience.

While the course is world class and a joy to play a note of caution, the homes are way too close to the fairways on many holes even good golfers regularly hit in to them despite the addition of netting to protect some homes. Golfers insurance does not exist and home owners have begun moving in, under Egyptian law should a golfer’s ball hit a home owner or worse their children they are liable for assault charges and have to stay in the local police station until the issue is resolved. Few other clubs in Cairo have homes that close to the fairways unprotected and the home designs encourage the homeowners to wander on to the fairways with their kids and dogs. The Club makes every player sign a liability consent form clearly placing all accident liability on the player

The price for playing is higher than surrounding clubs which they claim is due to the Troon Brand, but it’s known that they have been offering better deals for annual memberships than the posted rate if you negotiate.
