pretty good course
personally i think the course is pretty good for the price. i have played courses that cost more and are not in as good of shape. greens seem to always be in great shape even with the winter coat on. Fair warning keep your ego in check. this is one of the hardest courses i have played. there is only 3-4 holes if that where you have room for error. most of the holes if you are off the fairway by more than 5-10 yards your ball is gone. if you have ball control you can score good on this course. Personally i like the course. while my group plays course on the north side of dallas i still enjoy coming to country veiw from time to time to test my game and see if i have improved. if you are in the area and want a quick round i would recommend giving them a try
pros:
greens in good shape 95% of the time
nice pro shop people
in a quiet neighborhood and the course goes away from the the main road.
pace of play is good. i have played here about 10 times and round was always 4 hrs or less. cant remember ever being held up by group's in front of us.
really the only con is the pro shop is dated and limited selection.
Well Kept
Country view is always very well kept by the team. The staff is always friendly and ready to help.
Tricky course, friendly staff, fast greens
Course is in good shape considering the rain and drastic temp increases we had. Greens were consistent and flat (great for the area) and the course was playing tight.
Tricky tee box locations and sloping fairways force you to play smart.
The locals who frequent this place are some of the most interesting, and kind characters I’ve come across. Worth the money and the time to get out here.
Extremely challenging course.
I'm not a good golfer, but this course didn't help. Just about every green is on a plateau with steep hills on all sides, usually leading to water. It's clearly an older course, but still fun, just hard.
Nice and challenging course.
A nice course with an interesting layout. Not intimidatingly narrow, but you'll have to put in some thought right from the tee to have the angles for the green. The elevated green add to the challenge.
Good shape
Greens roll nicely. I sunk some long putts from the fringe. The teeboxes are in great shape for this time of year. Still some hardpan and the fairways play hot. Watch the slope, but enjoy the green once you're there.
Good times
Played many round here. Always a good time as long as your irons are on. Requires precession iron shots to elevated greens. Poor shots will test your short game. Greag layout will kepp bringing you back.
Thumbs up
Found this course on GolfNow for a very low price so I was expecting the worst but came to find out it was very nice especially for the price. I definitely recommend.
First time playing the course
Not use to playing on greens that were e l e v ated. Very challenging..greens where small
Bad experience
Over priced and bad management. Had a 45 min delay that they did not post online or with golf now. When I showed up an hour early for my tee time to be respectful of their check in process. They told me there was a 45 min delay. So I asked if I could have a small bucked of balls for the delay and they just said nope can’t do that. I would have just left but I had already Ubered a $20 ride there. So as the time went on they never called my name with the group I was to join. Well that group never showed so they just forgot me. Duh. I’m the guy that is now almost $100 in on my experience there. Stupid management fire them all
GREAT SHAPE!
I'm 48 and I've played off and on here since my early 20s. There was a period where the course wasn't in great shape. That's no longer the case. The greens were outstanding. The fairways were great. The only reason I give 4 stars is because there are still a few spots where the ground very hard, but that's why I should stay in the fairway. 🤣🤣🤣 It was a windy day, but I chose Country View because the tree lines diminish a lot of the impact from the wind. I will be back, hopefully more frequently.
Country View Lancaster, TX
this course is quite challenging. All the Tee Boxes and Green are elevated. This made chipping onto the Green a bit difficult, if you were short the ball was rolling downhill.
The Greens were is very good condition. The fairways were in fairly good condition, and you needed an extra club length, if you were in the rough because it was rather thick.
All in all, we enjoyed playing it, b/c it was new to me. It was a little cold and windy to start, but weather got a little better as the day progressed.
