Avoid at all cost
Worst course ever. The regular “members” are rude and unruly. Actually threw a ball at us from another hole that they went out of there way to get. Went in to get my money back after 9 loud and unplayable holes and was actually cussed out and threatened to “go outside!” The guy took his belt off and was threatening my kids! I will give the owner props for finally intervening and giving us our money back. There was about 15 people in their drunken group and I have never seen anything like it. Avoid at all cost or at least have 911 ready to dial on your phone. Unbelievable.
Good Morning for Golf
Cypress Hills is a good course, a lot of up and down hills. You will get all the exercise you want with all the different elevations.
I have play this golf course over 8 to 10 times this year.
They had a lot of rain in the past week and the greens were very wet and hard to play.
Usually the course is great to play; if they don't get soaked with heavy rains.
They have let this place go.
Whole course needs to be sprayed with roundup. Large crabgrass patches on every green.
GPS will not take you to location
You will not find this course if you are using Gps. So like any guy should I called and got directions. It was easy to find once they told me where they were located.
$41 ?????
I enjoyed this course, but I got a real good deal at golf now.... It's a fun little layout but at full price I would go to many other courses first..
has its place
Ok, i read some reviews that all seemed good so I booked a time and made the stop on the way to Shreeveport. Just to be fair, this is a perfect course for bringing an inexperienced golfer (wife or kids) as its very relaxed, never rushed and a good chance for teaching. Now, i must admit that $41 to play an absolute goat ranch on a Friday at 2:00 was ridiculous. greens were the best part although they were so dry, it was impossible to stick a shot, they were weed free and true. quiet country atmosphere was very nice as well but not enough of a factor to cancel out the price. They also sell no alcohol which is necessity to enjoy this round, so you better bring your own. In final thoughts, this would be a decent $25 weekend round.
First time playing here
Greens are very difficult with hard pin placements and elevation changes.
Great value
This is the 4th time I have played this course in the past year and each time I am more impressed than the last with the greens. The rough is "Ruff"; but if you keep it in the maintained fairways it is a very enjoyable place to play.
Carved out of the wilderness in the East Texas pines make each hole a pleasant sight. There are enough "Risk / Reward" hole to challenge every skill level. I'm a 68 year old 18 handicapper and bogy golf from the white tees is the norm for me. I recommend this course to anyone who truly enjoys the game of golf.
Greens are Rough
This is a very scenic and challenging course off the beaten path. While the winter has been tough on the greens, the course is overall in pretty good shape. I first played here over 15 years ago and the course has really matured well.
The greens are tight, a little scalped, and full of gouges from mowers, I think. Made reading a putt a little dicey.
