Excellent Course
GREAT!!!!
First of all, when we got there, we were greeted by the club pro who got to know us for a few minutes and then gave us a free bucket of balls to go to the range with with a little advice as well. He Couldn’t have been a more warm welcoming to a new course course that was very well-maintained. The pace of play was excellent and I will definitely be back. This is a hidden gym in Dallas. !
Randy
This course has great potential. With some investment in making the greens a bit more lush, having a cart person for refreshments, and just an overall cleaning up of the place, this course has potential to get noticed again after a long time.
Enjoyable round of golf
Had a wonderful time on my very first outing at the course. Joined by another senior and a lady who preferred to walk while we carted around, it was a relaxed and enjoyable 18 holes. The conditions were a little dry but it did not detract from how the greens behaved or the fairways which sported good maintenance mostly. The cart path was a bit bumpy. The Marshal made his rounds and kept a watchful eye on proceedings. Will definitely play again when i have a chance.
Front 9
The course is in great shape and for the money is hard to go wrong! The greens on the front 9 are super hard!! Not fast, but lots of sloppy greens. Below the hole putts would help score better. The greens on the back 9 are more flat and play more true! Again, I don't think the greens play super fast, they just slope way to much and pin locations are a bit to much!
Over all, great track for the money!
Pace excellent
Very impressed with pace of play on a Saturday. Wow!
Best time I’ve had so far
My buddies first time playing at this course and he said 10/10 loves the course. Staff, competition, greens, groundskeep, etc. he said he definitely would love to come back and play soon. Beat bang for your buck for sure. Greens are always well kept
Always Consistent
Conditions and greens were good for this time of year
Beware and Stay Alert While Playing Here
This course is easily the best “value”‘ in the metroplex. Greens fees are reasonable and the pace of play is well monitored by the Marshall. The course conditions are also decent for the time of year and should improve as the course gets more water on it.
Biggest issue here is safety. You’ll see a lot of comments about car break-ins. Today, we were treated to play being interrupted by a young kid (12-13yrs old) walking his pitbull on the course off leash. This was on hole 14. At first it just seemed odd. But then the kid and dog walked onto the green we were putting on and we could see that the kid was carrying a Glock and kept flashing it while the dog roamed the green “playing” and chasing after our balls. The kid continued to linger around the 15 tee box and eventually wandered off with the dog towards the homes left of the tee box.
We did call the clubhouse and they sent someone out to look for him but it was clear from their response that this wasn’t the first time he’s been seen on the course WITH A GUN.
Not really sure what it make of it all but will be taking Mesquite off the list, indefinitely. Just not worth the risk. On top of that, there were several other people walking dogs on the course. It’s not a park. It’s a golf course. Still just mind-blown that this happened today. Just… wow.
Fairways and greens
Fairways need lots watering Green are rough not smooth
