Loved this course!
The fairways were nice and manicured on every hole. Felt like it was a good mix of challenging holes to keep it interesting and fun.
I would recommend this course to anyone who likes to drive the ball long. I played on a week day so it was wide open and the golfers playing were all singles and playing with a great pace. It does have a lot of water hazards so if your not good at keeping it straight you’ll be a little frustrated.
Thank you Quail Valley for the fun day! See you soon....
Course is in terrible shape
Unfortunately, my recent visit to La Quinta left much to be desired. Despite the anticipation of a relaxing day on the greens, I found the course to be in a state of disrepair.
From uneven fairways to poorly maintained greens, it was evident that the course has seen better days. The lack of upkeep significantly impacted the overall enjoyment of the game. Additionally, the price point did not align with the quality of the experience.
This course is not the same as it was even a year ago, and it is not worth playing here at all. My experience at La Quinta fell short of expectations. If you want a cheap course that does the trick - Sharpstown is WAY nicer!
A challenging course I like to play and have fun
Course condition is ok but not always perfect. Very challenging course to me because it’s par -holes are long around 400yards. The tee times are plenty and easy to book. The price for one round is also good. Overall, it is a good course I Lin my list I would like to play often.
Could be a very good place to play.
I have lived on this golf course for years. A very good golf shop, event center and restaurant. It could once again be a very good golf destination, for playing golf and events, but they never fix anything or upgrade. I will likely play other courses, even though we are there.
Cart Path Only 1/2
6 additional holes other than the par 3’s were cart path only. Sand was very hard packed and inconsistent. It is the rainy season so this was expected. Should be in nice shape come April.
Alligator!
Have played the course a dozen times in the last few years. For the first time, saw an alligator. Hole #13, pond by the green. The gator must have been 5-6 feet long.
Informed both the marshal on duty and the pro shop BECAUSE WE HAVE RUN INTO CHILDREN PLAYING AND FISHING RIGHT ON THAT HOLE. No one seemed to take the potential risk seriously.
A wet day
Three days after rain cart path only really slowed play (with constant threatening reminders from the on board GPS). Ie: play when dry.
Greens in really good shape. Fairways also ok away from the lateral water areas.
The clubhouse set up is first class.
The last two holes remain seriously hellish on the La Quinta course.
El Dorado not for beginners
Due to rain, the la quinta course was closed and we were re-directed to the El dorado course. As a newer player, this course is incredibly challenging and punishing.
My Home Couese
This was my first time playing in four months, so it had to be here. The course was in good shape overall. We know that it doesn't drain well and there will be some wet spots on the fairways, especially numbers 1, 12, and 16. The greens were in good shape for winter golf. They rolled pretty true, and not too fast. I wish the city could raise some cash to fix #12 and cart paths. Other than that, the Quail is one of the best all-around courses for the money.
La Quinta
Very good time at la Quinta, however the greens were very patchy, and the group in front of us was very slow but that’s not the courses fault. Overall a nice time and I will be back.
Thank you for coming all the way from Cypress. Being your first time to play, we hope to have you back to play again.
