super layout
This is one of the more interesting courses in the Lower Mainland area. Most of the holes are cut through trees and no two holes are alike. With the eagles, deer and breeze off the nearby ocean it is truly a walk in nature. Unfortunately, the fairways suffered greatly from this summers heat wave. With the punching and sanding that's going on right now I'm hoping they will recover quickly once we get some rain. The greens are in excellent shape and run true The biggest downside is the mosquitos. Bring bug spray unless you are playing in the heat of the day.
It's good to play other courses with different fairways and slopes.
When I booked on line, it says 1-2 players in the check box indicated but when we were ready to tee off, I found out it was just me and my partner playing. I thought we will be paired off in the course. My 2 other buddies wanted to play too but I told them we were foursome already. I wish I knew ahead of time as they very much wanted to join us.
Tough but fair course
Poor shots are penalized. Accuracy off the tee is critical. No freebies at this course.
dried out
Massive water shortage in the area this summer. Baked out fairways and approaches. Sand traps were hard and unkempt. Thing is its not like the price reflects these conditions. I think they are relying on past glory. Still a challenging and beautiful spot but not worth the border wait to hit off dried dirt
It was a wonderful course & the nice man at the pro shop was helpful & friendly.
I would go back again as well as recommend others to play there. I booked during the "hot deal" time. It's definitely worth the drive, money & time to cross the boarder.
A good Challenge
A really nice course carved in the woods. A good test of accuracy and if you can shape your shots, you can find yourself in great positions hitting your second shots. A greens are fast and tricky. The mosquitoes can be a problem.
Great layout. Every hole is different.
Point Roberts is worth the trip. It really isn't that far. Bugs can be a problem so bring your bug spray.
The course is a gem.
Very unique course layout, each hole is tree- lined and the greens roll true.
Greens in Good Condition
Greens in good condition, fairways are dry. Bunkers need ground crew to watch were they are putting the rakes!
nice layout!
Course was in adequate condition however it is in dire need of a drink. Play was relatively quick. Enjoyed!
keep it straight
nice, solid course,..good variety of holes,no 2 holes alike,.. not target golf but you must be straight especially on approaches to the greens..excellent twi-light and junior rates
Great course!!!
Point Roberts is always a challenge. Each part of your game will be thoroughly tested and penalized have any errant shots. Course is always in decent shape but can dry out on those long stretches of sunny hot weather.
my favourite course
This is my home course (sort of) so I am a little biased. PR is the most interesting course in the Lower Mainland. Almost every hole is isolated from the other so you rarely see other golfers. The greens are great, not as fast as they used to be but fair and challenging, the fairways are bare in parts which looks like some kind of fungus problem. The crew are working hard to keep up the maintenance but more of both are needed to get this diamond out of the rough. Not many people play this course, which is okay by me but it's worth the border and the green fees.
Beautiful layout but needs some care.
The tee boxes, fairways and greens are burned out. I know that PAC NW has been getting alot of sun but it seems that the course's sprinkler system has stopped working in major parts.
Frustrating lack of distance markers as well. Only seemed to be a 150 stake and the odd 100 stone in the fairway when the grounds crew managed to trim it enough for it to be visible.
Needs Work
Decent greens but very tricky. Rest of the course need a lot of help, dry and bare over 50%. Also layout pinches in for driver so you end up having to lay up on all but a couple of hole, not a well laid out course in my opinion.
