Greens need cutting
Wonderful course layout that used to be the top-ranked course in state. Greens were very fuzzy and needed cutting. Course must have been sold as this course used to stay pristine year round. Now a nice course, but just average.
horrible condition
although the course is challenging, and has a good layout, it is in very poor condition. Tee boxes not mowed, greens all over the place, some fast some slow, some cut some aren't, Fairways are a joke. I drove an hour and 20 minutes....will NEVER do that again for this course. Most of what you'll find in their fairways are weeds
Tough course, nice layout.
Course was a little rough around the edges, fairways a little spotty, but played roll em in the fairways and had a good round. The course was a little hard to find, but the gal on the phone was extremely helpful and brought me right to the course over the phone. Played there 15 years ago didn't remember much about the course except that it was a bugger. Severe t-storm warnings for about 2:30, and man it was right on time! Got in most of the course, skipped a couple of holes. All in all a good day. Will definitely play again if back in the area.
Great for the price
The course is a great value. It can be tough but with 5 tee boxes to choose from, based on handicap, you can pick your poison. I play here often and enjoy it. I wish the course was in better condition, but this area is limited on playing choices.
Summer 2016 Golf Outing
Course is as tough as I remember from 10 years ago. Paris Landing Golf Course has begun its shutdown to have some remodeling done so we went and played the Tennessean. We played the blue tees for the average length, but it was still as daunting as ever. Best score in the 4 some was an 89. Ball control, length and touch around the greens, are all at a premium when playing this layout.
Surprised that this course is open for business
I made special arrangements to play here on my birthday this year, believing that it was a great value for the money. I read some of the reviews, and was excited to have the opportunity to play TGC. Quite frankly, this golf course should not be open. I was a class A member of the PGA for over 11 years, and I don't think I have ever seen a course in such poor condition. My intent is not to trash the place, but to warn others (who may not be aware) that the Tennesean Golf Club course is simply not playable in its present condition. Almost half of the fairways had little to no grass in the landing area. I won't belabor the point, but it's obvious that this place will be out of business soon if things don't get better in a hurry. I have to say in all honesty that the owner and / or management should be ashamed to collect money from people to play here. My wife was with me, or I would have gone back to the clubhouse and requested a refund after the second hole. I didn't want to make a scene, and it's not the fault of the hourly employees, but this is just bad business.
Winter damage
This is one of the I beat layouts I've played. Relatively challenging blind holes and fairways, up and down. The problem they have now is with the greens primarily that were damaged by the hard winter. With a little tender loving care and time and not rush to get the course back open (they apparently had 9 holes closed for a while) it will be a marvelous beautiful course. I thoroughly enjoyed it however and hope to go back soon. Certainly recommend it too.
Great layout
This course is one of the best. Greens are quick, and course design is very challenging. I wish it was closer to where I live. To me, it is in the middle of nowhere; however, the staff was very, very, very nice and I purchased a couple of items, simply because they were so nice, polite, helpful. I would highly recommend this course, especially to a low to mid handicap golfer. Most enjoyable in every respect.
beautiful course! beware of the seniors trying to kick you off when they have their weekly matches. but other than that, it is a great place to play.
Great course to play! No sand, and a lot of water.
Nice course!, Perfect weather!
The course is in great condition! It was hard to believe that on July 28th, it was 74 degrees. It was the perfect summer day for golf at a very nice course. Don't forget to brush-up on your putting skills before you arrive though.
