The Falls - June 27 2015
Course in great shape, greens rolling well, #6 green under construction so plays as 180 par 3. The new green will rock, big improvement. Pace of play excellent.
Tough course
Nice course, high rough and fast greens. Scoring is at a premium.
Great Test of Golf!
I've seen this course on Golfnow and believed the remoteness of the location would allow me to play as a single with relative ease on a Saturday afternoon. I also received a solid hot deal for $20 which was a steal. The pace of play was a little slow, but the course wasn't that busy. A few four-somes were playing slow but I still got the round played in under 5 hours with a 30 minute rain delay. The front desk was nice and accommodating. As far as the course goes, it was as advertised. The course got solid reviews from Golfnow reviewers and I was impressed as well. The course is a straight up test from the first tee to the last putt. Those that can drive the ball straight have the only chance to score well here. Not only can you not spray the ball off the tee, you cannot miss that far off the fairway or you will be under overhanging tree limbs and into thick rough. There is a nice variety of holes. Hole number 6 was under construction and turned into a par 3 for the time being. It appeared like they were redoing the green complex which would make it a pretty easy, yet cool looking par 4. The greens and fairways were in fantastic shape. There are multiple stone lined creeks running through the course which make it look cool. The only complaint I would have is that neither the scorecard or the sign on each hole had a map of the hole. There are multiple holes with doglegs with creeks that are not visible from the tee. With the precision needed, it would be nice to in some form show the hole design and indicate yardage for blind tee shots to the creek and/or end of fairway. Overall a solid course that will test your game and well worth the drive from Houston if you get a deal from Golfnow.
Great Course
The course was in excellent shape and not busy, so I was able to take my time and enjoy the afternoon. In my opinion this is the best course in the Houston area.
Excellent course
The course was fantastic as we expected. It is a fun course, greens were fast. The person behind the counter in the pro shop was very rude. We were a few minutes late due to making wrong turn. He informed us we could not play for the rate we got at GolfNow.com because the tree time was for 11:00. He said those times were there for a reason and if you are not there, too bad. I can understand that if you have a full course and tee times are full. There were maybe 15 cars in the parking lot, so what was the big deal about bring a little late. We saw maybe 10 people on the course while we were there.
Great course!
The Falls was great! I will be back! I played with my brother. It was his first time to play The Falls. I had played it years ago. We teed off at 10:50am. Never waited and never saw anyone behind us.
Was upset with the staff
When we walk into the clubhouse we got a unwelcoming cause we book our tee time on golfnow. One of the guys with in to get range ball the staff member gave him attitude. This the second time I'm played there and the hospitality is very bad toward customers.
Fun course
Our four some had a good time and we look forward to coming back soon.
Perfect Course
We had a 2:50 tee time and when we got out there at 2:30 the pro in the shop told us to just go out whenever since they weren't to busy. We were never rushed from behind nor did we run into anyone in front of us. These were the absolute best conditions I have experienced in quite some time. The course was in great shape. Lush fairways and fresh sand in the bunkers. The greens were superb and very fast.
course great staff iffy
the Falls is one of the most beautiful pieces of Texas we have to offer ....gorgeous... secluded and beautiful... for the most part great layout with one hole in particular aboslutly an unplayable layout with a large tree in the center of fairway and a 200 yard carry for your 2nd shot the greens were wayyyyyyy overseeded .. like putting on wet velvet were so slow full shoulder turn required on even the 5 footers Golf Now and the Course are not on the same page as the Golf Now said $ 30.00 and the pro shop charged us $ 35.00 We played after rain and this course definitely becomes a bog in these conditions I would play this again very tough layout save the Pro v's and use a beater ball till you learn the course as scorecards and hole markers do not show layout of holes
Uphill we go!
On our first time at the course we found it to be somewhat difficult. Many holes are a constant uphill trek and some of the holes are a bit tricked up. Many blind shots. Greens were in great shape and very difficult to read. Slow uphill and fast down hill. Pro shop warned us about greens and suggested extra practice green practice. He was right. All in all, I would definately play this course again.
Best of our trip
Course setting and conditions were excellent. The Falls was the most enjoyable round of our 5 in the Houston area.
This course is top notch
Always exceeds my expectations. Love the seclusion and my son loves watching the wildlife
Great Price Great course
The course was in very good shape for first week of March. Greens exceptional condition. Could use some pictures are description on the scorecard or hole signs. At times did not know which way the fairway went even though had played before.
Beautiful Course - Tee to green, well worth the drive
Wow !!!
Great golf experience.....
This is the only course I've played this year with grass on both the greens & fairways. The greens were rolling very nice, not extremely fast but not slow at all......
We teed off around 11:00 on a Wednesday and never saw another group all day. Took our time to enjoy the wooded views and still played 18 holes in around 3 1/2 hours. Drove about an hour from Houston, but well worth the drive.... Very challenging but fair layout.
greens were in great condition
enjoyed every minute of play on this beautiful course
A must play!
A bit outside of town but well worth the trip out. Friendly staff and the course is kept up very well. I look forward to next time I make it out here.
Falls golf
The course is a great layout. If you want a challenge this a course for you. A bit pricey.
Tough
This course tough but a joy to play. It is about 1 and a half hours from Houston but worth the trip. I have been playing it about twice a year for a long time and have never been disappointed in the course.
