Beautiful course...great layout.
Well worth the drive...felt like I was in the middle of peaceful nowhere, a long way from Houston stress. The Falls is a well-maintained course with a lot of natural beauty. Great value!
fantastic getaway between Houston and San Antonio
Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Course was in very good shape as usual. Excellent practice area and friendly staff.
This course has many different features
The course held up great to the torrential rain the night before, there was no casual water on the course. The bunkers were in great condition and the greens were very demanding.Everyone in our party thought this was the best course we had played in Houston
Don't pass The Falls up
Even though it is a little ways off the beaten path do not pass up a chance to get out here and play. Course is almost always in good condition and the green roll true. A couple of real challenging holes and a pleasant track to get around. Played 36 holes the other day and it was well worth it.
Great time. Highly recommend
The course is well worth the drive from Houston. The course is in very good condition.
I really liked this course and recommended this to my friends very highly. But, it has not been maintained well, needs some repairs the greens
Highly recommended first, but I noticed that the greens have not been maintained.. well.
Worth the drive!
If this Labor Day holiday you are going to be stacked up on a Houston area golf course playing a 5+ hour round then you should consider driving out to The Falls in New Ulm. It's 80 miles out or about 90 minutes. Don't forget to stop at one of the many great BBQ places along the way back.
A Rural Gem
Lots of fun in a rural setting. Out of the way but worth the trip from West Houston. Staff unloads your clubs and offers a quick clean up after. Smiles every were. Oh and the Polish Dogs at the snack bar, Yummy. Best day off in a long time.
The course was in great condition.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The greens were as challenging as ever. The beer prices were too high at the snack bar.
Challenging course in an outstanding setting
Well maintained course. Range balls come with the greens fee. Challenging course--once you play you want to return. Friendly staff. While it is in the middle of nowhere--it is wll worth the ride to play this course
Still great after all these years
It has been awhile since I played The Falls and it seems that the course has matured nicely. This is one of my favorite courses that I have played over the years. The course is still as difficult as ever requiring good shot making skills in order to score. Course was not crowded as we played during mid-day. Our pace of play was probably a little slower than some but it was not because of being crowded. We never had to wait on any shots or did we have anyone waiting on us. Greens were in better than good shape with all the breaks and undulations making putts interesting.
the course was good for the money we paid.
The greens are very dry, hard, fast. It's impossible to stop the ball on the green even with backspin. The design of two holes are very interesting. In general, it is worth a try given the huge deal(we paid 30$ each person).
The course has great service. The staff is excellent.
I immediately noticed the great service that the staff provides. As you drive up, the staff will take your bags and load them into the cart while you park.
I played my round on a Thursday afternoon so there was no cart person and the snack bar was not open. When I went into town to eat, I was told that the wait and restaurant staff had abruptly quit and left the course hanging.
The course was in very good shape and the greens were tough and fast. For the most part, the fairways are wide open but you still must keep it straight. The course doesn't cut you much slack if you are not straight or relatively straight because being that the course is part of a resort, it's built in the sticks and if you don't at least keep it in the immediate rough, then you're in the sticks, literally and figuratively. But that's what makes the course so scenic, especially when you're in the tee box and can see some of the other holes and the layout of the place. It's nice, real nice. Deer all over the place.
I would have enjoyed to stay and play but time didn't permit but the villas looked well equipped and rather modern from the views that I had. I definitely plan to play there again.
Interesting course
This is a very interesting course, but the day we played, small scale water falls were not running, and the greens were just aerated and perhaps seeded too, leaving the grass too long for smooth putts. We paid $37 that day, which is good value compared to $60.
Worth the Drive
The course is worth driving two hours to get there. It was not crowded and was in perfect shape. The fairways are lush and the greens rolled true. The staff was very friendly which helped to make a great day of golf.
Great all around course
from the driving range, chipping surface, putting , and then to the course best course i have played since i have been playing golf. Fairways are like hitting off of carpet. the greens are fast and tricky. Lots of scenery to look at.
Beautiful course, friendly staff
Got behind a slow twosome, hence the 4.5 hour time. Great value for the discounted price we paid. At full price, the value goes down. Can't wait to go back.
Worth The Drive
I have played The Falls many times over the last 20 years and two things have always been true each time. It is an awesome facility and I am always humbled by it. It is a love/hate relationship as it always eats my goat, but I would play it everyday if I could. You must try it and you will be back again and again to try and master it. Good luck.
Course in great shape
Great course. Well kept. Highly recommend. Beautiful scenery.
Super Fun
Wonderful layout with lots of hidden trouble. Course knowledge essential for scoring. Greens very difficult due to slopes. I had more second longer than first putts in my life. Aggressive putting can hold lines but if you miss you could easily be off the green.
