Worst Golf Course
As a member of Wilderness Ridge, I am here to say that this is the worst private golf club I have ever seen in Lincoln and everywhere. When we decided to join, we had looked at other clubs in the area, but we decided on Wilderness for its amenities and golf. Being a member for nine months, I can say this club is horrible in how they treat their members. As members, could we get on the golf course at least once a couple of weeks? They have an online tee sheet to reserve tee times. Every Saturday and Sunday, it has the same names on that sheet. In addition, they allow members to book tee times for other people. Two weeks ago, the same person had four different tee reservations when we tried to get on the tee sheet. Can one have tee times at 8, 9, and 10 am?
That seems nearly impossible for him to play and start each time. We were told by the membership director that we needed to get up early and try to get on the sheet. The tee sheets for the following Sunday are released starting at 12:01 Sunday morning for the next week. We have stayed until that time to get on the tee sheet, but for some reason, all the times are taken already, which leads me to believe that this club is being run poorly by the golf pro - Mike Schubert. Wilderness Ridge doesn’t care about all their club members, just some who are close friends with the golf shop. In addition, to the golf, the rest of their amenities are subpar. We were able to make reservations at the restaurant for dinner - now it’s first come, first serve, as you would see at Crackle Barrel. I’m unsure if paying monthly dues totaling over $600/month is worth it. We have tried to cancel our membership, but we would still have to pay our dues for 24 months. All they care about is charging fees and collecting dues. They host all these golf tournaments, which again limits the time members can use the course, and if they have any small event, members are charged for it, even though we pay monthly dues. If you are thinking of joining Wilderness
Ridge - DONT - go to Firethorn if you want amenities or Hillcrest if you are looking for a club that appreciates its members. Wilderness Ridge is just a money-grubbing club with no good qualities - poor clubhouse, limited golf availability (if any), and management that does not care about its members.
Spring play
For early season play the course was in good shape.
Disappointing dog track
I don't write reviews. 70+ rounds in 2019, visiting Lincoln for a wedding this past weekend and arranged golf w friends Friday 9/20. Deplorable conditions at Wilderness Ridge for USD70+ green fee w no advance warning despite multiple phone calls to pro shop prior to arrival. Signage in clubhouse indicated maintenance on executive course, but we found major construction on multiple holes on championship course including par-4 13th playing to a temporary green 160yds off the tee w a blind shot to a down/sidehill pin in aerated fairway (all fairways throughout course recently punched) that hadn't been mowed in a week. 14th hole similarly undergoing major construction with equipment impeding play in fairway. No less than six traverses through backyards, this is more of a housing development than a golf course. When questioned post-round, pro shop staff "unaware" that "maintenance" was taking place on championship course, refused to accept course undergoing construction. Perhaps this may have been viewed as good golf 30yrs ago in Nebraska, but strongly suggest looking elsewhere to play if visiting Lincoln. It appears ownership is milking as much as possible from course while not maintaining conditions - we wish we had been similarly warned in advance.
Crazy layout
This is a nice facility and course but overrated IMO. A lot of the holes are typical to other courses until you get to the final 5 holes which is where I think the course is highlighted. My twosome ran into a joined up 4-some on #7....ya an 8-some that was quitting after 9 as it turned out. We also witnessed a 5-some going off #10. The final two with the lake keeps you coming back but the driving through neighborhood backyards and the crossovers of roads reminds me of too much unban life rather than a get away to golf.
The clubhouse facility is certainly first class and earns a 5 star after the round.
Great place to play
Got a hot deal from GolfNow. Excellent price for this place! Course is very scenic with beautiful homes and mature trees around. Greens were in great shape; just tough to read. We would definitely play this again.
Wel maintained, friendly staff
friendly staff and well maintained challenging course
Great Course Great Condition Friendly Staff!!
Great Course Great Condition Friendly Staff!!
Highly Recommend!
Great course
Course was in great shape and the greens were sneaky quick. Easy to run it by 3 feet. It's Nov so I didn't expect the course to be in that good of shape. Pleasantly surprised.
Nicely manicured course
A very beautiful course, greens and fairways were mowed and spacious. The tee boxes had been aerated , but were playable. The layout was nice, winding through neighborhoods, but yet very long driving in between holes. Staff was friendly, mowers were courteous. Will definitely play here again.
Great day on the greens
Course was in fantastic conditions. True greens, challenging pin placements and a rare day in NE when the wind was relatively calm.
Disarray
Had 3rd tee time of day, by number 15 there were 8 groups ahead of us, and this was already 4 and a half hours in to the round. They should just keep it a private course because they allow the members to run around wherever and for close to 80 dollars each, very disappointing experience.
Wilderness Ridge - Great Course, steal with Hot Deal!
Had a very enjoyable time at Wilderness Ridge after scoring a great price with GolfNow on their Hot Deals. Always worth playing a couple times a season. Course is in good shape for early in the season. Rough's will eat you up, not that long, but really grabs your club. You're rewarded staying in the fairways! Will be back again!
Unorganized
There was no starter and no announcement. We were supposed to play with a twosome but they didn't get to t-box before time to tee off. Then they added a member to our group. Completely unorganized and seemed very loose for a Country Club, We stopped by clubhouse and service was extremely poor as it has been most every time we have been here. Sadly it's a beautiful place but poorly run.

Great course and excellent shape for this time of year. Would definitely play it again
