Apple Nine at Lyman Orchards Golf Club
About
Lyman Orchards has been growing fruit on the same rolling farmland for over a century. Not only are there nearly 100 varieties of pick-your-own fruit, Lyman boasts a Robert Trent Jones course and a Gary Player Course. Opened in 2012, the Apple Nine is the newest addition. The par-29 layout is the perfect alternative for golfers looking for less of a challenge than the two championship courses. It's tough enough to provide a good round of practice for more advanced players who want to shave a few strokes off their game but it also allows beginners and juniors to get a hang of the game. In addition to the three golf courses, the Apple Nine wraps around a driving range that has been recognized as one of the top 50 stand-alone ranges in the country.

Fun par 3
Great place to take your wife golfing. She played from kid tees.
Rude staff in the pro shop/ course doesn't drain well
This course drains poorly sopping wet fairways so bad that my waterproof Sketchers were rendered useless because the water would rise above my ankles. Furthermore when arrived in the clubhouse the girl at the register was very passive aggressive and rude.
It is clear course gets played a lot. Greens are not in great shape.
Very nice course
This is a short course but very well maintained and a nice challenge for the distance and time out on the course.
Pro was pushy and rude
I was told that the tee time was open up to an hour before my scheduled time. We arrived at the first tee box about 20 minutes early. I was approached by staff and pro saying “This course is not a training course, you’re gonna have to play fast or not at all. We have a youth tournament right behind you.” As a paying customer who has golfed with Lyman over 60 times, I thought this was extremely rude. I was giving lessons, which is why I showed up to my tee time 25 minutes early with the expectation that if needed…I would let other players play through. Needless to say we felt rushed and I didn’t get the most out of my lesson and the client was extremely upset with me and the course as a whole. I likely won’t be returning to apple nine unless they rethink their staffing options.
Apple 9 does just fine
Took my son to play who is 12 off his second lesson. Greens were fast and true. Faster than the Jones course greens which I played on Wednesday. My son holed the longest putt of the day! Staff is always friendly. Great place to bring my son for a fun well conditioned 9 holes.
Thank you for playing and thank you for the 5 star review! Glad to hear your son rolled in a long one. Hope to see you back soon!
