Good course for the price
Played on a GolfNow "Hotdeal". So the price was right. Tee'd off on a Thursday around noon and course was pretty darn busy, therefore the pace of play was not good. But greens, fairways, tee boxes, and rough were in decent/good playable shape. The collars and fringes were a little hairy...but overall a good experience. Shorter course, but with the blind tee shots on several holes and sloping fairways, the course demands more finesse and thought than power. Great course to round out the wedge and management game. The greens are smaller, but with plenty of break. They rolled out nice and held well for not having rain for several days. Pretty easy course to get to as its just off 35W south in Elko. Definitely worth checking out, however if looking for a quick round, you may want to play earlier in the day/morning.
GOLF
THE COURSE WAS IN GREAT SHAP & THE PLAY SPEED WAS GREAT.
This course needs work!
There are a number of things that bring this course review down to the low rating I posted. The driving range tee box is as hard as a rock. It needs to be watered. There isn't a starter at the first tee. You just get in line and the first one there goes first regardless of your tee time. There is so much goose droppings on the front nine that you cannot avoid walking in it. It is on the tees, fairways and greens. The greens were in pretty bad shape. The divots left by previous golfers numbered in the hundreds. And it also appears that these same golfers scuff their feet on the greens. There are stairs leading up to a tee that are roped off because they are a safety hazard. It appears that they have been this way for some time based upon weathering. On the back nine if you get on a hole that has woods nearby make sure to bring lots of mosquito repellant because they will swarm and attack you on the fairways in the middle of the afternoon. All in all, the course needs major groundskeeping attention.
boulder pointe review
It's a nice golf course, good challenge, many waters sun traps and nice view
Enjoyable course
This is not a Legends or Mystic, but you should not forget the value this course offers. This is a great practice course for those who are serious about strategically playing golf. This is a great relaxing course those play short. In either case, the value is unmistakeable. The condition today is excellent. Some holes are very scenic as well. There are a few more blind shots than are desired, but again, you need to be "strategic" and you will soon start liking them instead of hating them. If you have not played there yet, give a try.
Very nice greens, thick rough and challenging holes
We were very impressed with the majority of this course. The fairways, and rough were appropriately cut to reward good shots and penalize poor ones. Undulating greens with good speed and true rolls. A few of the hole layouts are odd - especially 18. The day we went, the clubhouse was out of scorecards with hole or course layouts - this did cost us a few strokes. Overall though, I would recommend and plan to revisit again this summer.
Bring lots of balls
Really need map of the course on card or somewhere. The ruff is too long!!! Very very hard io find your ball if not on fairway..
Boulder pointe is an good course
The pace of play was horrible on the back 9. The groups were stacked up three deep on each tee box
Good Course!
Course is in very good condition, with nice true greens! I love everything about the course, except the amenities. They only have a few selections of food (deli sandwiches, hot dogs & candy) plus they don't even have their liquor license! We went in the clubhouse and tried to get a beer and they said that they do not sell liquor!? Very strange, we would have never guessed a good golf course like this one, would have such poor amenities. I would definitely recommend playing here, just make sure you bring your own food and drinks. Maybe it's a good thing to have to bring your own, save money and almost every course will not allow you to bring your own drinks but this course will.
