Cracking day out.
We did hot deal for less than 15 quid. We had a cracking day. Course is in great nick and green very good. It's an excellent layout and incredibly scenic. Staff were really nice and helpful. Thanks Appleby.
Quality and welcoming
Turned up early as I wasn’t from the area, the man behind the bar was very welcoming great sense of humour and should me and my wife around the facilities.
The course was great even with the wind, difficult hole no4 I think but a brilliant par three 16th absolutely loved the course.
What a great golf course. First time I’ve played there but will definitely be going back, the lady in the shop was lovely and explained where to go. The tee shot from the orange tees on the 4th is something else and the 15th has to be one of the best par 3s around. If you’ve not been, go you won’t be disappointed
Fantastic course!
Brilliant course, very well kept, greens are some of the best I’ve seen in Cumbria and overall it is a cracking course! Will be back for sure.
I can’t comment on off course amenities as they weren’t open but I have heard they are just as good.
A stunning setting
An excellent course in great condition. It plays like a links course and the greens are slick.
The staff are really friendly and helpful especially Helen the manager.
Excellent course
Absolutely fabulous course (even more so for the fees).
Sone brilliant par 3s and a great test of golf all round.
Greens in excellent condition - would definitely play hete again if we are in the area.
Simply wonderful!
What an incredible round on this beautiful course! It’s so open, like having the whole course to yourself. Stunning landscape surrounds the course, sheep grazing everywhere. Great holes present challenge and lots of fun. Highly recommended. Thanks to the membership for opening this up for public play.
Rough impossible
Have played the course many times before and always enjoyed the challenge. This times it seems the rough has be allowed to grow very high making finding any stray shot impossible to find and I mean impossible to find !!!
This mean shots just off the fairway were lost spoiling the game.
Will give this course a miss in future.
excellent day out
Course in excellent condition for time of yr and greens still surprisingly very good.
Slow players in front but weather so good for time of yr notan issue.
Great value and very enjoyable.
Thoroughly enjoyable experience
Lovely course and clubhouse with great views of the surrounding landscape. Got off to a great start with a very warm welcome from club staff and superb breakfast. The weather was very kind and the course very dry which gave it a links kind of feel. Not a long course but a few challenging holes especially if and when the wind blows (lucky was gentle breeze when we played) Challenging par 3s especially the potential card wrecking no 15. Thoroughly recommend you give this place a visit.
Cracking condition for January!!
Greens as good as you will find anywhere this time of year.
Rough very light. 3 of us played and not 1 lost ball. Fairway mats were used but didn't hit many fairways so not used too much.
Busy clubhouse for a couple of pints and a bite to eat.
Highly recommended!!
Unbelievable conditions and staff
For this time of year it is very hard to find playing conditions that are up to the expectation of summer. However, Appleby delivers. From moment of arrival the staff in receptions me age were nothing but helpful and friendly. Then the course delivered above expectations. We had been recommended by a friend that openly is a grey course, especially in the winter. The greens were quick and true, fair ways solid and the tee boxes flat. We okay a lot of golf as a trio but this was truly a remarkable experience for a cold winter day after so much rain . Thank you!
Interesting course, lovely greens. Staff super friendly, nice clubhouse
This course has lovely views
Nice course with some tricky par threes. Miss the fairway and you can usually find your ball as the sheep keep the rough in good condition.very nice course would play again .
