Great service
I am writing this review to express my gratitude for the hospitality and kindness of the lady at the counter. She went out of her way too make us feel welcome and treated us with great respect. The day was cold, windy, and wet, but none of that mattered because of the way we were treated when we arrived.
We played at Landa Golf course in New Braunfels and another course in Austin, the people there were rude and that ruined the whole golfing experience.
Thank you for making a bad day into a great day of golf.
Pleasanton GC Hotdeal
A buddy and I caught a $24.99 hot deal this past Sunday.
For the price we decided the hour drive was worth the gamble.
Ended up being a great day, especially since the storms in the area danced all around the course.
Tee boxes and fairways were pretty decent. The greens are going through some work, and are Extremely slow (currently). However, they look good and can tell they’re getting attention to get them where they need to be. I’d definitely make another trip if I caught a hot deal again.
Our only complaint is, signage…. They’re there, but extremely old and faded. It doesn’t help the courses layout is kind of funky.
Weird layout, good price.
Got a hot deal for early tee time. Arrived about 20mins early and took about 12mins just to check in. They had just got a new system that day, and could not figure out how to work it. Didn’t have time to warm up, also didn’t notice a range. Course layout is very weird, but easy to manage if you know someone who has played before or carry an app that tells you where to go next. I think the price was really good for what I payed for. Do NO get behind a tree haha, but it was fun and I’d go back again if another hot deal offered it!
Don’t Bother
I don’t normally discriminate against a golf course but this place is in sad shape. Fuzzy bumpy greens, poor tees, terrible layout with massive trees that make it hard to tell where you’re even going. The rental clubs my family used were a bunch of random crappy clubs. There was also no signage to tell you where to get to the next hole. It has a ton of potential but until things change I wouldn’t recommend it.
Standard Muni, with Mature Trees Everywhere
Overall, this was a decent track. Nothing overly challenging, Basic Services, Priced Right.
1. Price - If you are military or first responder - DO NOT BOOK ON GOLF NOW! - it is less expensive to book through the course.
2. There is a range to warm up, but you get to shag your own balls and it is very small. There is a chip and putt area, but no bunker warm up area. There is a seperate putting area in front of the clubhouse, that was a pretty good representation of the greens and pace.
3. There are some very mature trees and the fairways can be tight because of them. The course is pretty simply laid out, but the one thing that I found to be a challenge was clear markings for the holes. Painting on the cart parth or staking out signs directing players where to go would have been immensly helpful. There are a few holes, where you can get turned around if you have never played here.
4. The greens have some character to them. The warm up green is pretty good represenation for pace and conditions based on what I saw and experienced. Same fo the undulations on the actual greens too. Generally they were is decent shape, but most have crab-grass growing up that can cause your ball to go off-line. There are also areas where there there was bare grass and dirt, but they are minimal and improving based on what I saw.
5. Food and Drink was very limited. No Beverage Cart, and no food from what I saw.
6. Bathrooms need some serious work. They were quite nasty.
7. Pace of play was OK. I waited for a two-some 3 holes behind me so that I was not consistently crawling up the 4-some in front of me; which I did multiple times.
The name "Country Club" is a bit of a mis-nomer based on some of the other "Country Club" courses I have played in the past and within the area. The course was good for what I would expect of a budget course. This course could get really fast in the heat of the summer.
long wait
The course was fine but we had to wait until 2:00 to tee off from a 12:20 tee time due to HS girls tournament.
Tough Greens!
Trying to hit the greens then having to putt out very difficult!
Good golf course better restaurant
Course is in pretty good shape. The narrow tree lined fairways will challenge you. Could use better signage guiding you around the course. It's a good value. Restaurant was fantastic.
Hot!
Shocked that in this very hot drought conditioned weather that the greens were in good shape and appeared to be watered! Also all the oaks were in good shape to provide much needed shade. No oak wilt! Hole number 10 playing from the back tees tough shot to find the fairway. One comment, need to better mark holes 3 thru 5 on where to go. Can get lost on which way to go. Also the markers seem to be pointed in the wrong directions when you pull up in your cart.
