Improvements in progress
Course layout redesigned, greens very good, TLC
played at 7,00am so the ground was very dewy the putting greens are in good order the fairways arent too bad the only draw back is the ground between tee to fairway very heavy grass i spoke to the young chap who was there and he said the course has only just reopened so hopefully it will soon be back in top condition
Friendly and good value
Most fairways on the course are very open and forgiving to the high-handicap player, except in summer when the dry ground is hard and the rough attracts wayward carries. The greens are quite tricky as they are generally not flat and the grass on them is cut really short. There are plenty of mature trees about but its easy to avoid them most of the time. It's a pleasure to play on a course not plagued by road noise.
The club has an informal atmosphere and in several months playing there I have never encountered anyone, staff or member, who has not been friendly and helpful. Club facilities are basic, e.g. no practice greens or driving range, but this is reflected in the relatively low cost of membership.
Golf club heading in the right direction
I've been a member here for a few years and have been very happy to see continuing improvements made to both the club and the course itself under the current management.
The course has always had a good layout but is now fulfilling its potential under people who have a clear direction of where they want the club to go.
Also looking forward to having new practice facilities and putting green in the coming months.
