Enjoyed playing this course
Overall this couse was a good choice for ease of access, travel time to and from and speed of play. It is a favorite of the locals. Price is-right and course was in good shape. I will be back.
Greens Getting Better
Very friendly staff. Fairways can use a little attention. Greens have come along nicely! Love the Layout of the course. My Buddies and I have really competitive rounds there.
2018 was a bad year for this course
2018 was a bad year for this course. Hopefully 2019 will be better.
The Babe
I have played this course countless times through the years. I found it to be in the best shape I have ever seen. While it is far from a great course it is a good deal for the money and the convenience. You get what you pay for and I felt the valu was good. I paid $10 on a golf now discount.
Great shape overall
Kudos to the grounds crew for getting the course back in shape so quickly after Hurricane Harvey.I wish the could get grass to grow on the 11th fairway.
Few rough spots but well priced
Has a few rough spots but close by and well priced low enough to not break the bank and fine tune my game. It seems to be improving.
Well.........
If you're looking to play a practice round to prepare to play competitively with your buddies, avoid this course. The greens are terribly slow and the fairways are dry and hard. This course is designed for the desperate golfer.
First time playing with my 5 year old
This was my first time playing with my 5 year old and I was kind of surprised that I was charged $5 for my son to play with me. Especially since I booked through golfnow.com and only paid $10 for my round.
The course is pretty decent. Nothing real fancy. But we still had a good time playing.
Good layout, extremely poor fairways and greens
I really enjoyed the layout of the course most of the holes felt isolated but some did feel like they were stacked on top of each other. The course played well and was challenging but easy enough to not frustrate you. But that is really where the pleasantries ended. The greens were burnt (what grass they had, tons of spots with just sand) and the fairways were so bad that you could not differentiate between it and the rough. Very poorly kept and it really took away from what could be a great course. There were areas that looked like they were getting attention but not enough. This could be just from the course not having enough funds to cover the maintenance, but it was in rough shape. Overall we had a good time playing despite the poor condition of the course.
Not Good
I only play this course a couple of times per year. This course is never in very good condition. The only reasons I chose to play today was of the discounted greens fee on Golfnow and the recent heavy rains make most other "courses" in the area mud holes....even more so that The Babe.
Good to get out and hit a few
Staff very nice... weather was very poor but under the circumstances it was very enjoyable.
Good value
Not Augusta, but in decent shape for a public course. Plays fairly easy so factor that in on your score
It's come along way in the last 20 years
It gets better every year, God bless Ed Cambell.keep moving forward.
Long & Easy
Nice flat course with some water, easy to walk or ride.
Very convenient location.
Horrible day of golf
The round is not worth near what the price is. I left after 8 holes. There was an incredibly slow pace with some of the worse greens I've seen in my life. They are scorched and covered in sand. It is impossible to predict where the ball will go. I live very close to this course and I will never go back.
Not a very good experience
Too many people booked round took way too long. Greens were absolutely horrible
