Long but enjoyable 18
Having utilized a few of the deals now for Bawburgh I must say that's it's one of not the best value course near Norwich.
Nice well presented course. Wide fearways and a a fair few long par 5s (a couple over 500 yards) and plenty of long Par 3 and 4#.
Encourages you to get the woods out of the bag! Greens run really well, fast greens.
The only think missing is a driving range, but the nearby family golf center caters for this. There are also nets and a small practice green close to the first tee, to help dust off the cobwebs if needed.
Course in very good condition and 18 holes certainly gets the lungs working!
Every hole temporary green.
Booked a round through GolfNow and prior to the round checked the website which stated that the 16th hole was closed which we found fair and appreciated the heads up. We made the trip of just over an hour and to our disappointment found that every hole on the remaining 17 had a temporary green which was not stated anywhere on the bawburgh website. No effort had been made with the temporary greens, just a hole cut into a random section of the fairway. I have emailed the course about the conditions but still not heard anything back, hopefully I receive a reply within the next day or so but I definitely will not be going back anytime soon.
Poor condition
The course was in poor condition. I understand at this time of year you can't expect too much but we were still very disappointed.
Fantastic course
This course was superb. Wide open fairways & well maintained. A true joy to play. It's rather challenging and the holes are fairly long so if you have issues with mobility or walking, you could find it tricky. Trolley rental was only £5 which was perfect.
Four ball
Excellent afternoon of golf. Good condition for the time of year . Greens played true and quick.
So slow!
Sadly only played 15 holes before it got dark, pace was shocking…no idea why it was so packed.
No staff booking people in might have something to do with it, didn’t see anyone in the pro shop an hour before our tee
Course is good but fairways too long and greens very slow, just been sand treated to be fair.
Shame as was looking forward to it
2nd time
Really enjoy the course but I always get stuck behind slow 4s here and find it far to slow so prob won’t go back but the course and staff couldn’t be better
Bawburgh
Interesting layout. Greens in good condition. Fairways recovering from the dry weather. Enjoyable round and a good test.
Redwilko
Excellent day. Course in good condition and greens very true.
Golf's responsibility to the environment
It it concerning that none of the courses I play show any regard to protecting the environment. It would not take much to provide some areas for wildlife and regeneration of natural habitats. Large land owners should all have a responsibility to provide at least 10% of their land for the regeneration of natural habitats. For golf this should be relatively easy.
