Super course as ever
Back to Bawburgh again and never disappoints.
Good value for money at £30 for a Sunday , weather was very hot and fairways obviously parched . Greens excellent and true. Plenty of tight fairways lined by ttrees so take your straight game!
Very good clubhouse facilities and overall highly recommended.
Fabulous course and great facilities
Being my first time playing the course I was unsure what to expect. Upon arrival I was greeted by friendly and helpful staff, given all the information I needed to know my way around and how to find the amenities within the clubhouse.
The course is well maintained and in very good condition.
I was welcomed by club members on the tee and asked to join their 3ball which suited me and I had a fabulous round for my first foray around the course.
I will most definitely be returning and may well consider taking a full membership here in the new year.
First time
The course. itself seem to be well looked after and has some challenging holes. We were looking forward to playing this course but made the mistake of booking a 13.48 tee off ( because of the price), even though it was great value the round was painfully slow. The gentleman in the pair in front of us insisted on using his driver on every hole, then almost always having to play a second ball. Then there was the wait for them to find one or both balls, they also had a slow pair in front of them to start off. After reaching the 10th in around 2.30 hours under the hot sun we gave up, this is a great shame as the course was an interesting and fun one to play. Will try and go back again but an early tee off.
Matchplay fun
Played Bawburgh yesterday and had a great time. The course was in good condition and looked lush and green: some strange bounces from the tees off the fairways which was frustrating but the greens were soft and true. Excellent course for 20 quid and will definitely book again!
Wow
Wow, What an amazing course! Somewhat challenging but very rewarding!! I will certainly be returning!
Fairly busy for a Thursday afternoon, We did have to wait for others in front and allow other faster single players through but its to be expected from such a fantastic course to play!
Good times
After yesterday's disappointment I did my due diligence and phoned ahead. The pro shop team were friendly and honest about the condition of the course so I booked the tee time.
Was joined by a Maltese opera singer and we had an enjoyable game.
The layout is hilly and testing with a good variety of holes.
I will definitely be back when conditions improve to give the venue a proper rating.
Very cold & windy day made the going tough. Course was in good condition
Great Course
Could not fault the course from tee to green, everything was beautifully prepared and in a very good condition.
An absolute pleasure to play on and will definitely be coming back again.
Amazing course BUT poor style of play
I must start by saying the course condition was great! Greens were fastest I’ve played! And there are a few signature holes that do make you want to take a photo and step back! And clubhouse and surroundings look amazing BUT
We arrived and there was 50-60 people at first tee and practice green and we soon realised are talking to people! The tee times are so close together so as in! There would be a group on the green putting! A group mid fairway waiting to take second shot and people on the tee! Already teeing off which is so bizarre! I’ve played many courses up and down east anglia and never have I experience that!
I’m so lucky I got a good deal on the app because original tee prices are expensive and I wouldn’t of been happy if I paid that sort of money! To get round took a total of 5 hours because we was constantly waiting at tees!
My favourite part was as I was eyeing up my second shot on a par five! I hear a ball fizz past me with no warning and it was 2 members behind us who have teed off and took a second shot and walked past and said we are playing through! There’s literally a 3 ball on and around the green and they proceeded to walk past us with ignorance! And take there 3rd onto the green whilst there is still people on it! That for me was ridiculous! And rude and unsportsmanlike
Asked a few members is it like this all the time! And the answer was yes! So I won’t be returning! Good for a one off to say you’ve played there but in the Norwich area there’s better value courses with better layouts! As the lay out here was a tad confusing for a first timer and We got asked by a couple of people “where’s the next hole” but we was in the same boat as they were haha!
This isn’t a review to slate it by any means because as I said overall the place is stunning! But the amount of money the place is making! Space your tee spaces out and maybe lose a couple of tee slots to make the experience more enjoyable and free flowing!
Good course - slow play
The condition of the course was good.
The greens had been well mown and offered reasonably quick surfaces.
The general maintenance of the course was good.
The setting was very attractive indeed, and the layout varied and interesting - and quite challenging.
The only complaint was the speed of play - which was truly awful. We had to wait on every shot. On one occasion, there were four separate matches playing the same hole. This detracted significantly from the pleasure of playing a very agreeable, tree lined course.
We played on a Sunday afternoon and it is possible that there might have been a competition going on - but nevertheless it was tediously slow going.
We will return to give it a try midweek in the hope of finding it quieter, as the course itself merits a return visit.
Amazing course and facilities
We played this course yesterday with the threat of rain but we were so lucky. We had a small amount of drizzle for 10 minutes. There was a big competition on this day so my wife who was playing her first round of 18 holes felts somewhat intimidated. But the course was beautiful. Loved it and just to make sure that we finished all 18 holes, we finished in the dark. Lovely afternoon!!
Fantastic Course
I love the variety and challenge of this course. Probably the most enjoyable course I’ve played
Interesting and varied course
A nice course with a lot of varied holes. A good challenge for all standard of golfers. We really enjoyed this course and would like to play it again.
Bawburgh golf course
Lovely challenging course.. Really enjoyed it... Hard to pick a fault... Only thing I would say was tee times could do with a few extra minutes between play as on a few occasions the groups in front and behind were all cramped up together
