Avoid like the Plague, worst course I have ever been to!

No distinguishing between rough and fairway
Balls get lost in the daisy's covering the back 9 of the Baron
Greens are anything but, inconsistent, covered in dirt, sand dead grass, holes and CHICKEN WIRE!

If were had of been told the course was in such disarray before we'd played then we would never of paid the ridiculous £30 green fee to play.

Never coming back here again.

Very good course, would recommend to anyone!

Paid £3 and went with an early morning tee off - 8.44am. A lot of frost on the ground and on the greens, but didn’t affect our play too much. The ground thawed out by the time we got to the 7th hole. Greens were tricky while frozen, but was still able to adjust and make some very good putts. Tees were in good condition, just slightly slippy on the ones that were still in the shade. We played the baron course which is quite hilly and has got a good amount of par 5s. Second time playing this course and was much better this time around. Has some very nice holes and scenery, especially the little par 3 hole 9 which is across a small lake on your left hand side, usually into the wind and a tricky shot, but you can make par at minimum. Only negative would be that a couple of the greens were patchy and some of the fairways needed to be cut slightly shorter than they were, but overall a very enjoyable course!

Disappointing and unwelcoming

Played the course on Sunday and can safely say will not be returning. the weather was perfect and still this club is not worth playing at.

The staff were unhelpful to say the least and it's members were rude, ignorant and seemed to lack any basic manners or golfing etiquette.

The course was in just as poor a state and we were made to feel very unwelcome.

Shame but don't waste your money

Value for money

We played a 3 ball on Saturday morning, the staff were really friendly. Tees greens and fairways all in good condition. I would say the only thing that it is missing is some signs towards the next tee, apart from this we had a really nice round of golf. If your anything like me and play in the rough then enjoy the fruit on offer around the 7/8/9/10 holes. Plums, cherries and apricots all for breakfast lol I would definitely play again for bargain price of £16 each.

You have to try these courses

We have played Beadlow twice now, well 4 times to be accurate.
We stayed overnight both times and if it interests you I will sum it all up as follows.

The Baron course is cracking, some challenging holes and lots of tricky ones as well.
The greens were in fabulous condition. The course immaculate.

The Baroness, is still in it's infancy, but it will be a great course in time.
The greens are some way behind the Baron course but give it time and it will be a joy to play.
The hotel is basic, but clean, warm, and perfect just to chill.

The STAFF: Amazing, friendly, helpful and they really make you feel welcome.
James the new G.M is a cracking bloke, took the time to chat to us and told us all about the Baroness and what to expect. No lies, just plain talking and truthfulness. A rarity in this day and age.
So check out the packages they offer, you will have a fabulous time.
P.S meant to mention the food.
Great value, lots of it and served with a warm smile.

Misleading Advertising

We read a review prior to going that the course was in immaculate condition - it certainly wasn't. It was in very poor condition. The greens hadn't been rolled for a long time (although we were assured they had been 5 days before). The fairways hadn't been cut in ages (although we were shown pictures of them in pristine condition, from a week before). The tees were in very poor condition. The manger was having a laugh when he talked to us afterwards, and showed us his pictures. He says the course will be as shown and described in the press by the beginning of April. I think he's living on another planet. The course has great potential. We've played it in a lot better condition 110-15 years ago. It's been fairly poor since. Hopefully it will improve as he says.

It used to be that the Baroness primary and Baron secondary course but last year it seems that the Baroness was closed due to a lack of ground staff. THIS year the Baroness course is open again (played beginning of April) but it has not been maintained with greens VERY slow, in poor condition and no obvious signs of being reseeded. There are weeds in bunkers and overgrown fairways. The Baron course now seems to be preferred ( more expensive) course and although better maintained, it is still a long way off being anything like what any reasonable golfer would say was "good". Proper course management still seems to be deficient and whilst we saw several grounds staff (April visit) only one was seen cutting grass, the rest were either driving vehicles (going where?) or walking around chatting!!
Someone needs to get a management grip before this potentially very good club completely loses all credibility.

Overpriced

My friend and I chose to play this course due to being half distance between his and mine. When arrived into pro shop staff were ploite but was not welcomed to course or showed any interest. We then walked to the first tee and the course layout looked quite nice for first hole but we found out this to be deceiving in the end due to nearly every hole there was G.I.R some of them even had a massive mound of mud in the middle of the fairways because of this. Yet while playing the course no one on course maintaining it. Now the tees had hardly any grass on they looked like they never get treated was navigating your way through the fairways as described once getting the greens they were incredibley slow. How do you manage a ball to stop on a downslope from a down hill chip? I don't know but managed it. At £20 a round per golfer this is well overpriced I have played better courses that are even at half the price safe to say would not recommend and will not be back to play.
