Beautiful and challenging

Immaculately kept course in the Durham countryside. Some tight fairways make it a challenge but I won’t hold me having a shocker against the course itself!

Definitely play again

Really enjoyed the course. Some of the fairways are quite narrow but the woodland is forgiving. I thought the course was really well maintained and thoroughly enjoyed the day.
4 ball in front of us were a bit slow and didn’t let us (2) play through but wasn’t too bad.

Good course but a bit shocking making yellow tees play off matts in April?

Green Fees

£93 for a three ball including a 12 year old junior was expensive enough to persuade us to go elsewhere for our next round.
How can we be expected to encourage our youngsters into the game when clubs insist on charging full price for juniors.

March visit

Played course this week, excellent as usual. 17 greens in play, course was in great condition for this time of year. Unfortunate that clubhouse was closed due to a recent electrical problem but didn't defer from a fabulous day. Highly recommended.

Slow play at Beamish

The course was in reasonable condition for the time of year with only a couple of greens looking a bit weather beaten. Pro-shop and club house facilities are very good. Most holes include significant changes in elevation and can be a bit tiring to traverse – anyone that isn’t 100% fit should consider using a buggy or powered trolley. Sadly I can only award 3 stars due to pace of play – we completed the front 9 in circa 1.5 hours – then on the back 9 we had to wait on every hole – it took an additional 2.5 hours to finish the course. Another group informed us that slow play is a regular problem that the club is currently trying to address.

Lovely winter round

Course was in great condition, a few temporary greens which is expected for winter, but the staff informed us of which holes were temporary and which were not.
Has a very nice layout with a lot of tricky and rewarding holes.

Very good

The course was in very good condition given the recent weather 5 temporary greens could have done with a few signs directing visitors to winter tees a small issue the club house was closed due to storm damage so couldn’t judge will definitely be back

Beautiful course, but a very wet day

Course absolutely stunning and very well kept. Only negative was that it was a very wet day, and a lot of the greens were waterlogged, but it's not fair to judge in those conditions. The course was pretty much empty when we played, so we weren't held up by anyone. The gentleman in the shop was very friendly and helpful explaining where we were going, and the few people we did see while playing were all very happy to give us directions and pointers. Would definitely visit again next time we're in the area

Lovely course

One of the better courses Ive played especially in this price range, very hilly offering a good challenge but forgiving for those of us who hit the ball a little wayward.

The car park could do with a resurfacing but that’s really a non issue

Great Course

A challenging but forgiving course with plenty of hills to climb. Greens had been dressed with some kind of gritty feed/fertiliser but they were consistent and ran true. We were lucky with the weather but the newly mowed 2nd cut meant the ball was covered in grass, so fairway golf strongly recommended. Air pressure shoe cleaner not working which was a shame and the only negative of the day, oh and play was slow. Will return .
