Pleasant Round
Course has improved quite a bit since I last played there 18 months ago. Greens were in good condition, bunkers had good sand in as opposed to being filled with stones like many other courses. Fairways and Tee boxes were also good.
Good condition
Always good here played my best round this year as well
Nice Course
Played on a Saturday afternoon which was very busy as there was a competition in front of us. Booked a 2 ball through Golf Now, and were paired with another 2 ball, which wasn’t that clear at the time of booking. That aside, the other pair we played with were good company and we enjoyed the round
Lovely afternoon
As beginners we found the course challenging but open enough to allow for our shortcomings. At this time of year the leaves and sunlight made it difficult to find balls off the fairway but that is not down to the course management.
Greens were in good condition most enjoyable.
Best greens
Beedles has quality greens for this time of year , good speed , true and pretty firm .
It’s not the most technically challenging course but it still keeps you honest With usually a route out of the trees if you are a bit wayward.
They have made a few changes since my last visit , moved a green , shortened another hole and filled in a pond on another , I expect to improve the speed of play which seems to have worked .
Not my favourite course but always a fun round and will keep coming back
closed for maintenance
turned up at pro shop and was told front 9 was closed for maintenance!
Pro shop were very apologetic, we played the back 9 and par 3 course and were given voucher to play at future date
clearly a disconnect between booking on line and the actual course
Nobody about
Our Tee time was 8 am and the pro shop was closed. Nobody anywhere to be seen.
However, the golf course was in great condition and played well. We only saw 3 other golfers the entire round.
Could do better
I appreciate the difficulty in this covid era but course was a little shabby. Greens quite long and hence on the slow side.
Clubhouse well run and both service and food good.
Would not rush back to play course.
Great course for beginners and intermediates.
This was the first time we played this course, and both of us were looking for a course that would allow us to improve our game whilst providing some interest, and this course provides that.
The course was easy to find, although the drive to the club house is much longer than I expected. Good sized car park and the clubhouse facilities looked good, although obviously social distancing practices were in place. There was no real welcome when we went to check in, "here are are your scorecards", "you have been put with another player". I asked if there was a course plan, "No". Fortunately when we got to the 1st tee the members who were teeing off before us were very friendly and welcoming and explained the 1st couple of holes. The pace of play was such that it was quite easy to see where the next tee was, and most hazards were quite obvious. Some of the fairways were a bit rougher than we are used to, and we're quite undulating, but the greens were excellent. Overall the course is well maintained and we had a really enjoyable game there.
Beedles Lake
Forgiving course that suits a good range of golfers. Friendly welcome & excellent staff. Only slight negative was the condition, but this was clearly due to a heavy traffic flow on the course as opposed to a lack of care.
Really enjoyed this course
Lovely parkland course in great condition. Not too difficult and lovely to play. Would highly recommend and I will be back !
Well kept, excellent greens
Nice course, fairly straightforward and also flat but we'll established and excellent greens.
Nice clubhouse, overlooking the lake with decent food.
Good setup for covid.
Great value and condition, awful pace of play
Word to the wise, Tuesday 11am tee times may be cheap but you’ll be behind the Women’s three balls which play painfully slow. It took around 5 hours to get round...
Monthy Golf Day
Friendly helpful pro shop staff for booking in, no chef until 11.00 therfore no bacon rolls before we went out, course in good condition overall we suffered from not knowing where ditches/ brooks where located however we did omit to ask for a course planner which would have helped. good selection of interesting holes found to be good all around day, food available after round to complete the day. Well worth the visit and will definitely come again.
Excellent greens
Course plays well despite winter conditions, with decent quality sand in bunkers (not supplied by the local builder like so many courses, including my own!). Hidden ditches may catch the unsuspecting, so beware! Second visit & won’t be the last.
