Sludgey!
Clearly a lovely course - but back 9 shouldn’t have been open.
I’m guessing it was only open to fulfil Easter bookings. The fairways in the back 9 were waterlogged and therefore not cut.
Unplayable and not enjoyable. Would rather they were honest and just opened the holes that were playable. Not good for the cost.
Imagine it will be brilliant in the summer.
Greens were great even at this time of year
Belton has two great courses, the Lakes and Woodside. We booked to play the Woodside mid morning on 28/12. I’ve played both courses several times over the years and I’ll play here again but it was disappointing to turn up and find out that only the from 9 on the Woodside course was open. Please bear that in mind when booking in winter. People were looping round and playing the front 9 again and there was no starter on the tee box so it was slow and we ended up joining the queue and teeing off 30 mins late so the £28 green fee felt excessive. Having said that the weather wasn’t bad and the course/green was in great condition, it would have just been nice to have been given a heads up that only the front 9 was open and/or that tee times were running late because of the backlog
Lovely setting and coarse (WOODLAND)
coarse was perfect apart from some of the fairways it was very wet, day previously we played greetham valley and it was really dry, but not complaining as coarse, staff and weather was all perfect.
Belton
Found course in good condition especially after the rain in the past few weeks.Pace of play was terrible, nearly 5 hours to complete 18 holes whereas other courses usually taking 3 1/2 hours.Probably would not play again after been twice and pace was slow on both occasions.
Good course - just need a bit more
Good course but it can be quite samey. Would be good to have some different obstacles to play with. I think most crucially the signposting needs to be better. Was finding I was getting lost where the next hole is.
Overpriced & staff need retraining
£40 for golf & £35 for a buggy for a mediocre course. You are paying for the Spa & name. Course is fair, good starter (Chris), bar staff need to be replaced, too much attitude and a lot less hustle, didn’t have a rush in their body and too much attitude.
Always good!
Played both courses numerous times, always enjoyable. Windy conditions provided a challenge but the course was in great condition. Booked the latest tee time and just about got round before it was too dark!
Amazing
Welcomed by a friendly staff member ‘Chris’ who talked to us about the layout of the course and where to go for each hole as there are two 18 hole courses on the park. Overall had a great day playing the woodside course, can’t wait to come back and try the lakeside course!
Needs some TLC
Played as part of a 12 person play and stay.
Excellent facilities overall and a big shout to the starter who was exceptional and set the tone for a great day. Had exactly the same treatment the next day so it seems to be the norm.
On to the course - lovely layout but definitely in need of some TLC. There are some scruffy tee boxes (down to traffic) and the greens were bobbly, very slow and unevenly paced over the round. Was in great company and the weather was spot on which coupled with my 41 point haul and some very good play from my playing partners helped to make the afternoon very enjoyable indeed. Pace of play was the standard 5 hours at a resort course.
Played lakeside the next day and whilst the actual golf on display didn’t match the quality of the previous day the course was night and day better presented. Pace of pay was also very slow at 5 1/2 hours for a football all in buggies following solidly packed 4 balls. Stunning weather!
Would come again for the price paid!
The Lakes
We booked the Woodside but it had just been hollow tyned so the staff recommended we play the Lakes course . It was in great condition and offers a challenging eighteen holes
The greens we’re excellent
We played the Woodside course it’s in excellent condition the greens were fast , excellent value for money
golf away day
reasonable good days golf weather was wet and finished in a rain storm luckily on the last hole.staff very friendly course in good condition considering the weather will return to play again in the future
Grea Day of golf
having played this course once before in the winter when conditions were completely different, although on this occasion it was windy the weather on the whole was good, the starters explaining the course layout and making sure everyone starts on time is a nice touch. The course is a good challenge for all abilities and a good layout with a range of holes to use all your skills for the best result, on our visit all went well until the downpour on the last hole which finished the game we abandoned the golf for the club house the only thing to be said about that is it is quite expensive.
Bob
First class golf course and facilities, one of our group's favourites in the locality, always enjoyable
Woods course
Great days golf ,course and greens in excellent condition. Only down side was the 5 hours we spent getting round because we followed a slow 4 ball , mixed pairs, without the offer of letting our 3 ball playing through- my slowest ever round . Fortunately a glorious warm day for October, made up for it.
Good value
Bit boggy in places but after the recent snow, couldn’t fault. Greens superb for time of year, fast & true. overall fantastic value!
