Hmm
Unfortunately, the course is currently undergoing serious renovation, and only 9 holes were available, which we played twice. There was no advance warning of this situation, and it looks likely to take some time.
The clubhouse was shut and locked when we arrived, so we could not even sign in, or receive any information about the course; the signage was poor, so we, and another player, had to search for the first tee. The reason I gave such a poor score for staff friendliness is that we saw no-one; even when we hailed a green keeper we were ignored.
Despite this, we had a reasonably enjoyable game, but that was more because we enjoyed the game and the company than because of the personnel.
Under construction
Lovely course and setting but a bit noisy with the M40.
The course is currently under construction so only 9 holes are playable. This wasn't very clear at the point of booking and don't recall seeing this or being advised of this. However it would account for why it was so cheap
9 holes when advertised as 18
Although there were 18-holes you play the same 9 twice. Disappointing as not advertised when booking.
Tough and disappointment
Really disappointed it wasn’t clear that the whole front 9 is under maintenance. So you have to play the back 9 twice. That wasn’t communicated and it was a surprise.
9 Holes
We weren’t made aware that the front 9 of this course has been demolished to build a hotel on. Upon arrival a very miserable man in the pro shop told us that it’s “just what it is now and playing the back 9 twice is fine”
No apology, no nothing for the 90 minutes travelled to enjoy an 18 hole course.
Only 9 holes
Only 9 holes open, was not told that when booking, very disappointed, playing 9 holes twice not good enough, the staff were polite and friendly, in difficult, conditions,
Ok course but painfully slow
Its an ok parkland course with some challenging holes. Course condition was very good but play was incredibly slow.
Sunday round
Course was in excellent condition although very soft due to heavy rain the previous day. Greens were in excellent condition and pretty quick. Course layout was fun with lots of wide fairways in the front nine however the back nine you need to be more precise as lots of water on many holes. Also very windy on our visit maybe club choice tricky, overall I enjoyed and would recommend a visit
Slow pace of play
The golf course was extremely busy and there was no tee-off control.
The golf course was in a good condition but the greens were too quick.
Over booked
Had a Golf now Tee time changed due to a competition.
Didn't even tee off as they had overbooked by a country mile. Frustrating as course looks great but was not willing to have to play through the whole course or be sandwiched between group after group of slow playing parties. Did try to call to complain but no answer.
Slow play ruined round
Painfully slow round, at least 10 minute delay on each hole and no one lets you play through.
Gave up after 9 holes.
Great course but won't be playing there again unless this improves
First time at Bicester
A tricky but enjoyable test. Accuracy is key here with the rough proving quite punishing at times. Very sloppy greens take some skill to play on and several pins were very well hidden. Given its proximity to the M40 a touch noisy at times but the course is in excellent condition and worth another visit for certain.
