Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel
About
Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay designed the course at the Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel. Opened in 1986, the 18-hole, public course is immaculately maintained and very demanding. The course not only offers a challenging game but also beautiful panoramic views of Denver and the Rockies. It offers 7,054 yards of golf from its championship tees, playing to a par of 72. The natural landscape of the golf course features lakes and a stream, which create water hazards that come into play on many holes. The course is also well-bunkered. One the Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel premises there are excellent practice facilities and a well-stocked pro shop.

One of my favoirie courses
Lone Tree is of my favorite courses. It is challenging, has a good variety of holes and is always in good condition. I also like the practice areas.
A must play golf experience
Lots of elevation changes, great variety of different types of holes to play. It’s not for the hack meisters, you’ll leave bruised and battered. From the tips you better have local knowledge. My first and I had an old local salt in my group who steered me to the shorter pastures.God bless him. Will revisit soon.
Pace of Play
Due to the lack of marshalling the pace was annoyingly slow which means I will never play there again.
November Golf in Colorado
The course was in fantastic condition. The staff was friendly and the range is in great shape. The practice facility was in awesome condition. Great round of golf. The course is in my top three in Colorado.
Excellent but.......
The course was awesome, greens were great, and loved the layout. Guy named Scott at the pro shop is a horrible reflection of the place. Kind of a rude guy. Other than that this course is one of my favorite.
Lone Tree Review
Lone Tree Golf Club in Lone Tree, CO remains one of the best public course values in the Denver metro area. The course is always in excellent shape, especially for the amount of play it gets. The staff are friendly and helpful and the course offers a challenge for golfers at almost every level. I would recommend it to anyone.
Excellent, Friendly Public Course
We booked through GolfNow, good price including cart. Beautiful course in a beautiful suburb. Excellent equipment (electric carts), very friendly and accommodating staff. My 13 year old son needed a collared shirt to meet dress code and the pro shop offered to lend him one, but we purchased on for him in the pro shop. Very helpful staff. Starter was extremely friendly. I think our group slowed the pace a little because we weren't familiar with the course but nobody hassled us about it. We got rained out on the 9th hole, and since we were from out of town, they gave us a partial refund on the back nine, with no hassle. I would highly recommend this location and hope to return someday soon so we can play the back nine. I've read some nasty reviews of this course and honestly can't figure out what people are complaining about. You have to expect to play around course maintenance and in adverse conditions anywhere you play. This course was in excellent condition. Tees, fairways, green, rough, everything was in beautiful condition. We were paired with a local couple who play the course regularly. They were very friendly and very helpful with course knowledge. I will certainly return in the future for another round!!
Great price if you go through golfnow.com.
The course is in great shape. Greens were sanded and we were not warned of this before we got our tee time. This made the greens real fast. The tee boxes and Fairways are in outstanding condition. I will play this course again.
Greens were Perfect
Best I've seen the condition of this track. The upgrades to the practice area are also a huge plus. Not worth their rack rate, but if you can get a deal then I'd be all in.
Decent course, but expensive for what you get and very surly staff
Never stayed there, have only played the golf course 3 times. Course is pretty good, back nine is more interesting than the front. But in terms of value, it's very overpriced, there are many other courses in the area as good or better with significantly lower greens fees and much nicer practice and hospitality facilities. Probably would have gone with 3 stars for the golf course factoring in the high price, but downgraded my rating because the pro shop staff have been consistently unpleasant every time I've been there, acting like the golfers are an unwanted distraction in their day. (BTW, this is not at all true of the beverage cart operator or the bar staff members I've crossed paths with, all of whom have been very pleasant and helpful). Today the pro shop staff were actually rude and insulting. Had to leave after 9 holes as something came up that I had to attend to and asked if I could get a refund or possibly a raincheck. Would have been fine if they'd told me that wasn't possible, but thought it was worth checking. Instead, some bearded goofball behind the counter went out of his way to interrupt my conversation with the other staff member to claim that I had paid for my round with a rain check. I'm not sure why that would have mattered anyway, but when I explained that I had never had a rain check from that course and that I paid with a credit card, he refused to believe me and continued to argue that he was ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN I had paid with a rain check, that he remembered it clearly and remembered talking with me about it and a bunch of other stuff. Of course I'd never spoken with him before in my life. When I suggested he look at my charge, he got surly and refused, saying he was sure he was right and that I was not being truthful! Of course, he eventually figured out that he was thinking of someone else and not me, but offered no apology and in fact his female cohort went out of her way to make me feel like I was in the wrong for disagreeing with him rather than apologizing for him repeatedly (and incorrectly) calling one of their customers a liar. They finally agreed I was owed a rain check, which I declined as I'll never play there again - too many other fine courses where the staff care about the customers and are not self-invoked jerks. One of the worst customer service experiences ever, especially given this is not a muni with muni prices we're talking about.
Great Day at Lone Tree Golf Course
Just a great day on the course. At the golf now price of $47 for 18 holes and a cart, great value. Good to see the youth tourney in the morning and the starter was friendly but hustling to get golfers out on schedule. Course in great shape and greens were challenging but fair.
Excellent greens
NIce big greens, course was in great shape for middle of February
Customer service is always sketchy at Lone Tree. One employee was down right rude while another was extremely helpful.
Winter Outing
I've seen reviews that have been critical about high green fees. I can say that about golf and most anything else in the Denver area the past few years. (Isn't growth great)!
However, this course is in as good of shape for Dec 13 that a course can be in. That includes greens, fairways and rough. And the layout is amongst the best in Denver for a public course. The views from certain areas on the course of Denver and the mountains are stunning!
There is a country club atmosphere at Lone Tree and the staff on this day treated me as a member.
Now if we could get the geese out of Denver to up north where we can hunt them it would be perfection!
Ever play Englewood golf course, now Broken Tee. 5.5 hour snooze fest.
