Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel
About
Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay designed the course at the Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel. Opened in 1986, the 18-hole, public course is immaculately maintained and very demanding. The course not only offers a challenging game but also beautiful panoramic views of Denver and the Rockies. It offers 7,054 yards of golf from its championship tees, playing to a par of 72. The natural landscape of the golf course features lakes and a stream, which create water hazards that come into play on many holes. The course is also well-bunkered. One the Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel premises there are excellent practice facilities and a well-stocked pro shop.

Lone Tree Golf Club
Course was in great shape. The driving range targets were hard to see as tee area had been pushed back but not a big deal.
Very challenging
Fun course in great shape. Fastest greens in Colorado make it challenging
wind is not a golfers friend
Today's round was not ideal. high winds then clouds and faster than normal greens. Always enjoy this course and it's challenges.
First impressions
It was my first time at Lone Tree, and though the temporary practice green did not represent the greens on the course, I enjoyed the experience. The layout was interesting and the fairways were great to hit a second shot. It took me awhile to adjust to the speed of the greens, but they were true rolling and fair. I look forward to the next opportunity to play this course.
Denver must play course
Great course. The Arnie Layout is still a winner! I love to play this track. Some carry but, not annoyingly so. The greens are always in great shape here as well.
Pricey for what you get
Was looking forward to playing and didn't have the most awesome experience on a few fronts. I'll attribute service issues to a bad day that everyone has. More broadly though I was underwhelmed from an overall value perspective. You can get on Green Valley or Heritage Eagle if you live south or a handful of other nicer courses for $20 less. I'd be willing to pay that premium since it's a bit out of town cuz sometimes those courses play faster due to less people but found pace of play absurd and they don't manage it. All of that unfortunately leads me to a 'wouldn't recommend'. I'll give them another shot later this season as maybe it was just a bad day....
Best Value around
I play the course all the time. Such a fair course and great test. Greens are in perfect shape. If you can find that $25 on golf now, it is like stealing!
Always in great condition
This course is a great track. It's challenging, always in great condition and the greens are smooth and fast. A great course, especially for the serious golfer. It is a little pricey, especially if your not a resident.
Arnold Palmer Gem
This is a championship golf course that is kept in great condition as a municipal facility now. It was built with the intentions of being a country club but was constructed during colorado's largest housing bust and went back to the bank. Each hole is challenging and the green complexes are similar to castle pines golf club. On the front watch out for holes 6 and 9 - very difficult par 4s with demanding tee shots. On the back watch out for 10 a par 3 that is as challenging as any and hole 12.
Excellent Greens, great layout, insane rough
Lone Tree is a Denver area legend and has the most mature rough you will ever play out of. It's not long but it's so thick that you'd think it was a foot deep. It's one of the toughest most unassuming looking courses in the State and will eat your lunch if you are not on your game.
Excellent hotel, great staff, great food, great bar, great practice area, great location, etc. Not much not to like about Lone Tree. Go check it out if you have not already.
Plays medium long from the tips and the premium is on accuracy off of the tee but rest assured it will test your long game plenty so be ready to putt defensively if you are hitting in from 180 or more as staying below the hole is just tough to do and being above it is terrifying due to the fast greens. I love the place.
Great value on a tough course
This course has it's challenges and opportunities. To score well you have to take advantage where you can and putt very well. You will find yourself with a few long putts so speed is critical.
Overall the greens were fair but quick and held my good shots. Wind played a factor during the round so weather effected my score.
Overall a great value at my discounted rate.
Nice course, challenging, great practice areas
Fun course. Played in rain alone and played in 2.5 hrs...
Beautiful Shape
This course is in great condition!!!! These greens are flawless. This is a golf course that is obviously well cared for. Nice job Lone Tree, keep up the good work!!
lone tree
Spectacular course. Great pace of play. As a hot deal this course will be hard to top.
Over Priced
This course is worth 50 bucks MAX , because they have a hotel they expect premium waaaaaaaaay much better courses for the money! That's why it's always empty
Super fast greens
Course was in good shape, but the greens were lightning fast, putting was a challenge, if you hit a shot from the fairway it was hard to get it close to the flag. So the takeaway is that the greens are lighting fast.
Staff was friendly, clubhouse is nice, overall the entire place was very nice.
I just can't believe the normal rates, pretty pricey, but if you find a hot deal, it makes it worth it.
Great Course
Very nice course. The rough is thick and they needed to cut the grass around the greens.
Greens are awesome
Playing on a Tuesday afternoon in April the course was in amazing shape! Greens were mid summer condition and the rough was mid summer deep! Sand traps were mid winter condition. Pace of play was OK, we were stuck behind some bad golfers and they fell two holes behind and the round took five hours because there are no marshals' around.
Great views and convenient
Always a great round. Well layed out by Arnold Palmer. There is nothing like the views and the roll of the little white ball. Worth calling in sick at work.
Pace of play
No beverage cart, no starter, no marshal. Teed off at 12:40 and finished at 5:40. So much for the 4 hours it was supposed to take.
