Getting back into golf after covid and this is the perfect place to do it. Cheap and challenging, the different tee boxes definitely make a difference making it 18. I can't fault the course.

Great 9 holes

Only done 9 holes but it's was the first time on a course for about 15 years or so.
Found it quite challenging with it being quite hilly and soft under foot.
Greens were in great condition
All in all a great little course and enjoyed a couple of hours out playing golf again.

Enjoyable

Great value 9 hole course normally with 18 tees, all greens in play and in good condition which is great for November, winter tee areas well worn, several wet areas on fairways GUR. No amenities used.

Great for a midweek knock

Absolutely fantastic for a midweek knock around but wouldn’t recommend to anyone who plays their weekend golf like it’s an event (I do), there are no par 5s or water features which for some reason I hold those in high regard.

The course is kept very well the fairways and greens are all in fantastic condition, the bloke in the club house goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome.

The only thing that lets this course down is the limitations it has in being a 9 hole course, whoever designed it has done a brilliant job of utilising the space they had to work with and for the most part it’s a very interesting course.

At £10 midweek it’s the perfect place to get a couple of hours in, way better than going to the driving range.

Windy and wet

Greens very long which made them very slow. Although by the time we got onto back 9 they had been cut and ran a bit better.
Yes there’s drainage works but it does not affect you unless you hit into it. I think the previous reviewer is a very harsh with their comments.
Temp tee boxes in play also, which meant you played off the same tees twice. It actually made the course play a lot different from the last time we played here.
Still good value at a tenner.

Worth a Round

Nice 9 hole course that plays off 18 tees for the 18 hole experience.
Some challenging holes.
Currently some drainage work being carried out but limited impact to those playing.
Friendly staff and members.

Birtley Golf Course

Greens on this occasion were awful. Appear to hav e been seeded so tufs of new grass all over.
In autumn greens tend to be covered with leaves so we tend not to play then.

Unfortunately not playable due to greens under repair

Booked a three ball for Sunday pm, unfortunately weren’t aware that all of the greens were being. reseeded - completely spoilt the round as was like putting in the car park.

Course and greens are normally pretty good, but wasted money on the round due to unplayable nature of greens. Shame really as really like the course and normally decent value.

Saturday friendly Game

Played this course a few times now over the past few years and must Complement the Greenkeepers on producing the best fairways and Greens I’ve seen here..
Also I would like to compliment the Bar Staff and members who make this one of the most welcoming, friendly and safe places to have an after game Drink in the area.
Thanks for a Great Day.
