Waited a long time to play this course and was so disappointed.
Having checked in with quite literally the rudest person I have ever come across in a pro shop I knew I was in for a bad day. The website is not updated so there is no current course information. I was told that it was carry only despite dozens of people with carts and the four ball behind us all pushing carts. I have a bad shoulder and struggle carrying but when I mentioned this I was just met with a bad tempered grunt by the young lady starter. The course only had 11 holes open and when I said I had paid full price, she just said that it was down to GolfNow and it was basically tough. She then looked like she was trying to resolve it on her phone for me but had in actual fact just gone back to playing on her telephone. After standing there for a good 4 - 5 minutes, I asked if I was done and she just grunted at me again. Not sure what she thought I was standing there for? Honestly it really isn’t the money, I was happy to pay full price but this was genuinely the most unwelcoming person I have ever encountered in my golf career.
I had always wanted to play here. My brother was a member in the 90’s and even had his wedding there. It used to be a proper, old fashioned, quality course but sadly it seems to be in severe decline. The club house is tired and the course didn’t seem in great shape. Perhaps I am being a little unfair and it might be great in summer but in winter £30 for 11 holes, all with temporary greens, very little signage showing which holes are open and the grumpiest staff I’ve ever met on a golf course don’t add up to a particularly good deal, especially on a course I was so excited to play.
Good course
Played the course after a period of heavy rain, so it inevitable there were some wet parts- this was mainly in the rough .
The greens were in good condition and fairways were good. The tee boxes needed some attention.
I would suggest the course needs to provide better guidance on the layout if the course , I didn't zee a course plan anywhere.
Overall it was good value
Blackpool North Shore
First time playing the course and I was very impressed. A nice open course which is in very good condition. Played with my son and we both really enjoyed it.
Members very friendly and made us feel welcome, chatting to us throughout our round.
I would definitely recommend Blackpool North Shore!
Very enjoyable golf
A beautiful day added to the experience. Very friendly staff in the pro shop and in the clubhouse. Greens in good condition fairways also good condition, the rough just of the fairway made it difficult to locate your ball and time doesn't looking, I wonder does the rough need to be just as long as this.
In good nick
Very cold but fairways were in good condition as were the greens that were open. A few temporary greens which weren't great to put on. Overall though I would play it again
nothing
all fine green and we were playing golf in first time. there were nice
change to over 5 holes without 5,6,7,10,22,14,18 used games
some greens were good. used games were also in some. no problems too cheap?
always nice to play here
played here a few times when in blackpool. pace of play very good and course in good condition . bunkers could have been a bit better . defo worth playing a round at north shore and very good value for money through golf now
First time playing this course needs marker's on fairwaysto show line of tee on some holes
Bit bland and featureless
Back nine are a lot better than the front which were all straight and featureless. Its is just a big squarish field surrounded by houses. No trees, but quite a few bunkers, which given the location I suppose you would expect. Club house looks like its falling down... Could do with some signs to direct you to the next tee on a few holes as well... On the whole we enjoyed the round and change of scene, but there are much nicer courses for the money.
Lovely course
Course in good condition and greens were quite fast.
Only fault we found as visitors were lack of markers on the fairways. Could have better directions to next tees
Apart from that we enjoyed our round
