Great course won't say it isn't but was abit disappointed this time
Mainly with how slow it was
Walked off after 14th (long walk back) lol
Due to standing around on nearly every tee
Box and fairway
Great track
Really nice course, punishing if you don’t keep it tight, very long in winter considering how little roll out you get
Full course on temps
After weeks of poor weather, finally a dry week, expected the course to be in good condition. However got to the course and the full course was temp greens, before setting off I tried to ring the pro shop with no answer, no updates on the website. The greens were immaculate and the sun was shining yet no flags put onto the greens. Pace of play was slow, we were let through 3 groups. Great course and would like to play in summer but wouldn’t waste time or money at this time of year.
Challenging but enjoyable course!
Amazing course in Worksop. A few temp greens on and only 16 holes open because of the weather but this was communicated beforehand so can’t complain. It’s tight and it’s challenging with water on a few holes. Will definitely be back to play in summer.
WAIT UNTIL SUMMER
We went to play Bondhay as the course we were members at has gone bust. We have played it before and know it’s a tough track but we were considering joining, not now.
I might be being a bit harsh as it’s been wet virtually everywhere but nearly every shot was a struggle to find, the fairways were like rough and the greens were slow and been recently hollow tined. The balls were hard to find as they were covered in mud, the grass was long and there were leaves everywhere on the fairways, we were expecting it to be a bit tidier.
As I say being a bit harsh but we paid £30, it wasn’t worth £20.
The people in the clubhouse/ pro shop were all great and there’s everything you’d need up there, 18 hole course, par 3 course and range with Trackman.
Very disappointed as we know what it can be like.
Fantastic as always!
Always top quality playing at Bondhay, The course is excellent in the winter and even better in the summer!
Club house is great too, Bar has a really good range of food and it’s very tasty, I always like a look round the pro shop they have a good selection.
Monday rate great, leaves becoming the issue now
I love Bondhay, many do not, but it tests your abilities to the extreme and for those wanting a fun easy round, this might not fit your dream day out. I have played here regularly as a visitor and lately it is always in a great playable state and I am really glad to see they have put out proper fences to keep people away from the greens with wheeled trollies and buggies now. This will help it stay in a playable and for those who duck under them and ruin the course, take a look at yourselves as you will be first to moan when courses become unplayable. We played on an October morning and although the weather was great, autumn has begun and the thousands of trees at Bondhay are now shedding their leaves meaning a shot to the edge of the fairway or first cut is now potentially a lost ball. I know it would be great if they blew all the leaves away and or collected them, but in reality I doubt the course has the money or the time to do it every day. For me I will think twice about going now until the better weather comes back in 2024, but I will miss the course and the 18th which is one of favourite holes across all courses.
So slow
Tee’d off at 11:10 and didn’t finish until 4:30…
Two 4 balls infront were a joke and wouldn’t let us through even though there was only 2 of us.
Last 4 holes we’d had enough. Apart from that course lay out is class and worth a visit. Just don’t go on a Saturday with society players take forever.
Always a challenge, but one of the best local courses
Many hate this course, it has millions of trees and bunkers but that is just part of the make up of this lovely course. Take your medicine and expect to be in the trees on most holes, chip out and start again. Some of the holes are absolute beauties, 1,4,9,10,11,17 and 18 being my absolute favourite. At 40 pounds this is probably the top money you would pay for this course. Food is great here and overall this is a really good course to visit. It might rip your golfing ability to shreds but you need to come here and test your abilities.
Great course
Played bank holiday Mon at 12.09 we were a three ball no one in front and we let a 2 ball through on 13. Had the course to ourselves just under 4hrs at a steady pace. Condition of the course was first class greens a good true pace. Just bunkers with a lot of footprints but that is the people playing and not raking like most courses. Tight course and a pleasure to play.
What a course!
Course in amazing condition. Fairways looked spectacular. Greens rolled true. Proper test of all aspects your golf game. Great flow to the course with some very scenic holes, 10, 11 and 12 is my favourite stretch. Par 5s examine your shot plotting skills. If you want to improve all aspects of your game then this is a great place to do it.
A Great Course
This course is well maintained and a great course to play. Most of them are long distance holes a lot over 400 yds with a few in excess of 500 yds. The greens are well kept and ran quite fast, so you need to be quite accurate. A great course to play, also the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Great value for money.
