Great course. So hard though
I played with my father in law who shot +6 on the Belfry a couple of weeks back. He was +19 here..
Loads of really tight fairways. I think I hit a tree on at least 11 holes.
Looking forwards to coming back to exercise my demons
Stunning course
First time playing here as I was in the area. Got an excellent rate of £16 on Golfnow, it was after 4pm but still managed to get full 18 holes in as the pace of play was good.
The course is visually stunning. Lush green fairways and greens, tree lined everywhere. It reminds me a lot of Woburn.
The greens were a decent pace with lots of subtle breaks in them.
I would say though that this course is very tight, there's no point thinking you're gonna smash driver everywhere unless you hit it really straight, as you'll be chipping out of the trees a lot.
All in all, this is a great course with some great designed holes and it's beautiful to look at from hole 1 right through to hole 18. Definitely give it a go.
Afternoon knock
Saw a bargain so drove from Doncaster to Bondhay, £20!
Checking in was brief no explanations etc and obtained code to get out.
Started my round and caught up with a very slow wayward 4 ball so missed the 2nd par 3 to proceed unhindered on rest of course.
The recent tidying up earlier in the year by removing trees etc has improved not only the lighting but the greens.
This is a great course, very varied on every hole. So many bunkers, for example at least 9 on the 12th hole. There are also 4 water holes, all of which are challenging!
There are plenty of trees on every fairway so ensure you drive straight! Not too much rough whereby you could lose your ball. However, there are many out of bounds where you will though
The greens were excellent and ran true, reasonably paced.
The clubhouse is nice and food available.
Enjoy a round here
Great course but tricky
Great course and course invery good condition.
Very tricky course off whites with minimal fairways to play with, surrounded with bunkers and trees with some great water holes. Can get away with driver but need to be accurate.
Greens very spongy and a tad slow but in great condition. Cracking course
It’s a good track.. worth a visit.
I would say a challenging course. Hot straight and you will be ok!
You have to ‘play’ & navigate through the course so it’s not a big stick from the tee on every hole which is nice. Some holes do tempt however with some risk and reward options!
Greens we’re pretty slow and fluffy,, (maybe due a cut) but ran true and the course is excellent condition in general and well maintained.
Tight fairways as a general rule and plenty of challenges which makes for a tough round of you don t land them!
Definitely worth a visit and it’s a good test.
Bondhay
What a beautiful course, from standing on the first t box as a first time visitor, stunning. With temperatures of 25 c at 5 o'clock the sun still high and beams of light washing through the avenues of trees it is one of the most picturesque courses I have had the pleasure of playing. Flat and deceptive, plenty of well placed traps to think about your approach, cannot fault it. Would definitely love to return
Great course
Great course green very true
If I have 1 criticism it would be lack of sand in the bunkers
Narrow but great
Narrowest course I’ve played in a long time so a real challenge but in great condition and a tough little gem.
Unless you are under 20 I’d give this one a miss ; )
As hard as ever, but we love it!
Bondhay is widely regarded as the hardest course in the local area and many shy away from it or call in sick for this round. Wayward shots end up in the trees, but take your medicine and chip out to the fairway and carry on and you can score round here. Try and be Tiger Woods from in the trees and you will get eaten up by this course. Some wonderful holes in 4, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14 and one of the best 18th holes you will play anywhere (which for the first I went for in two yesterday). Pro shop always helpful, food is great and facilities are all there. It would have got a 10 but for some tee off mats and the odd green which still needs to level out and a couple of missing 150 yard markers. We will always come back and love/hate it depending how we play. If you have not played this course, go there and experience it. It is not for high handicappers or those who are wayward, they will hate it. Do it, you know its a must!
Very disappointed that we paid full green fees and we had to play the first 4 or 5 hole on temporary tees and greens, it spoiled the round.
Trees!
Played Bondhay a few times and I find it a hard course, lots of trees and bunkers. Also water features on a few holes. I find it mainly in good condition and nice greens and it was the same today smashing condition for time of year with only 1 temp on the 1st hole.
You need good course management and straight shots to navigate to the greens or you will be playing ping pong trying to chip out from the trees! The normal price was £35 which personally I wouldn’t pay but GolfNow price £24.99 which is good. Shot my hcap today so pleased.
Great afternoon of golf
Great value for money, course was very well maintained, with some of the best fairways I have played this year. Narrow fairways with lots of bunkers scattered around makes this a firm but fair challenge. Will definitely be back.
