Course #2, short but very challenging. Have to know where to hit the ball on each hole.

The course itself was in great shape and very fun to play, although I did not finish my round. (explain later). The golf staff is fine, but not very friendly.
The food and beverage staff is awful! Either rude or couldn't care less. The beverage cart girl drove past me (without stopping) 3 times on the front nine. On the 3rd time, I had to yell at her to stop and told her she might sell more if she stopped once in a while! Her response was, "Do you want something or not?" I asked for a Gatorade and gave her my card and she said very rudely, "It's a 5 dollar minimum!" She could have asked me if I'd like to run a tab. At this point I said forget it and took my card back. After nine holes I went in to the snack bar to get something. As I walked up, the guy behind the counter just stared at me without saying a word, waiting for me to order something, when I did he got it and told me the price, I paid and that was it. No thank you, no conversation at all!
I guess I'm the only one that expects a little friendly service while I'm golfing. At this point, I was so rattled that my golfing was terrible and I ended up quitting after 13 holes.
I would play the course again, but, I will not partake in any food and beverages.

Sherrill #2: short, tight course in great shape

I hadn't played this in 2 years, was pleased to see the fairways and greens in such great shape. The long par 4's (3, 9, 11, 18) are great holes, plus tight short par 4's and a good set of par 3's make this as good an experience (IMHO) as course 1.

Short but sweet

The front nine proved to be quite challenging for me, but the back nine leveled out some.

Nice find in Dallas Area

I was travelling in Dallas around the fourth of July and found a good rate and good reviews on this course in Richardson, Tx. I was not disappointed. The club appreared to be well maintained and managed. A challenge golf track with driving range, putting and chipping areas, a nice grill and friendly staff. When back in the Dallas area I will play it again.

Nice Outing

We played course #2 - the pace was fine, the greens were fair - rolled true, and all around a fun day. There are a couple of holes that you better hit the target landing area or you will have no second shot...

Great for price but the hole to hole layout is frustrating.

Overall this is a well maintained course and great at $20 on golfnow.com. Quite a few holes are under 350 yards, so there is ample opportunity to get some birdies. Going from hole to hole can be confusing as the course winds through itself continuosly. Of the two courses at Sherrill park, course 1 is better (even though its marginally more difficult). The staff overlooked our online booking, but made sure to get us in at our scheduled time even though its was during the holidays, so kudos to them for getting that resolved quickly. I'd probably play this course again for variety, but course 1 is my go to inexpensive course in the area.

Good value

Fun course but because there are no Marshall's to keep play moving along, you will often find it slow playing.

Sherrill Park - Always a pleasure

Love the friendly staff and had a great time as a walk-on to be paired with others of like playing ability. The greens had been aerated about a month prior but they were really greening up and the fairway were nice. Some of the rough due to the rain were "rough" but we had a great time.

course is ok

Because of the staff and thier attitudes toward those who buy off golfnow, we would not ever recommend this course to anyone. We tried it twice and the second time was worse. NO ONE even around and the guy says we have to wait till exact minute and all 4 play together (no biggie), but says "thats what you get for buying it off of golfnow"...But just the rudest place we have played and we play couple times a week.

Nicely laid out course with many challanges

Sherrill Park # 2 is the lesser played of the two courses but has many challanging holes. A large creek runs through out several of the holes with a span of 15+ feet. The par 3s are as difficult as any I have seen with a few being surrounded by the creek so make the green of drop the ball. Hole # 16 is a beautiful Par 3 elevated down to a challenging green blocked by sand with water on the left, but easy to score a par if you can just find the green.

Fun, cheap course

Fun and fairly easy course to play on. Always enjoy being out here and playing course 2. Always a hazard here and there so dont miss too much but fairly large areas to miss and still be in play.

Course is in great shape. Soft fairways and greens. Course will test your course management skills since it is shorter than most.

Great Deal on GolfNow, so well worth it.

I got a great deal, I think it was $15 for tee and cart, so this was a heck of deal. I hate to say anything negative after getting that price for this nice a course, but if I have one complaint it would be the greens needed to be mowed. I know we just had a few good storms come through so the grass is going to grow, but these greens were super long and super slow. I've never left so many putts short in my life. This was not my first trip to SP, however, it was my first loop on course #2. I will definitely go back. For those of you who are unfamiliar with SP, I recommend staying away on weekends. It tends to be pretty slow out there. Last time I played on course #1, is was a 5 hr 45 min round.

Awesome value

We played course #2 around 1:30 pm during the week, and there was no waiting on golfers in front of us, and no one was on our tail. We played in about 3 hours in a 20 mph wind! Besides the wind, it was awesome. Great greens and fairways. huge putting practice area. Only thing we would add would be cart service on the course. It was hot, and would have been nice to have a cold one without going to the clubhouse. We will definitely play again! Thanks golf now!!

Fun to play

I only play about once or twice a month, but this course is nice to slip in and get on without requiring an advance tee time. The pro shop is friendly and accommodating. There is just enough balance of open course and hazards to make it fun and a bit of a challenge, but not so tough I wanna quit.

Nice course but green conditions were very poor

This was my first time to play Sherrill Park. I played course 2 and I hear that course 1 is a little better.

It is an attractive course with an interesting layout. I can't currently recommend this course. If they improve the condition of the greens, then I would be happy to recommend.

We played in late April; when Texas greens should be very nice. These were very bumpy and had many weeds. Several greens had large bald spots.

In addition to poor green conditions, many pins were placed on steep slopes. The putting was already difficult because of the greens. The pin placements given these conditions was ridiculous.

The staff was generally friendly. A marshal asked us to "push the group in front of us" that was playing a little slow. We were on a 4:10 pace on a Sunday morning. There was nobody behind us for an entire hole. I don't think it is professional or appropriate to ask players to push other players.

Lastly, we only encountered one beverage cart, and that was on #9 when we were only 5 minutes from the turn.

The good:
- Attractive course.
- Interesting layout.
- Practice facilities.
- Fairway and tee box conditions.

Needs to improve:
- Condition of the greens (really very poor).
- Etiquette of the course marshal.
- Placement of pins (at least when green condition is poor).
- Beverage cart availability.

Sherrill Park 2

We have played this course before & really enjoy Sherrill Park, both 1 & 2. The only problem with course 2 yesterday was the greens. They have a weed problem & it will become very serious if it isn't dealt with soon.

The greens was in bad shape. we had to pay for cart fee. I had to go back and look at the deal. The deal was with cart fee.

i purchase green and cart fee. the pro shop charged cart fee. our price was 22.00 buck on line. whe had to pay a total of $36.00. taxes are very high in that area. The greens were in bad shape.
