Great value for money
A quirky course in the New Forest. Greens were in excellent condition considering the various animals that wander around.
A minor criticism is the lack of signage. There is a need for signs indicating where the next Tee is and also the hole layout.
The signs are on tee box giving yardage etc but the layout should also be added in my opinion
Not what we were expecting
Just some tee boxes and greens in the middle of the new forest. It’s okay if you want to take the dog for a walk while you play golf but you can’t tell where you’re going because you can’t tell where the fairway ends and the rough begins!!
The manor course looks nice but is also very pricey for what it is!
No amenities on this course as detached from main club house
No fairways
Fairways none existent trampled by wild life and covered in horse faeces, which meant playing the ball as it lie’s impossible.
The layout of the holes were very good and all greens are protected by some sort of stream or water hazard.
The green were in ok condition but had recently been punched in high jade putting difficult.
We had the first tee time of the day yet there was people out in front of us somehow.
The pro shop wasn’t open upon arrival so we checked in about 2 minutes before our tee time.
We then had to drive half a mile up the road to the first tee where there was no facilities to warm up on.
Overall I feel this would be a totally different course to play in the summer but as a winter golf course it isn’t great.
Forest Course
The course is always well maintained. Greens in good condition. Deer, Horses, Cattle & Pigs add to the challenging nature of this course. Always one of my favourite places to play.
Live wildlife all over
Very unusual as you have to avoid horses donkeys and cattle roaming
Quirky course
A really fun course to play in the New Forest. Holes are laid out among the natural forest boundaries and the wildlife is there in abundance. Greens are really good (some fenced off to keep animals off) and fairways are good but be careful where you step as there is dung everywhere. Some really quirky holes which make the course a pleasure to play. Friendly staff and good facilities at the main clubhouse but nothing at the Forest Course itself. Very competitive price and a good fun round if you’re in the area
Open your shoulders course with small greens
Like this course as when you are coming back from a long lay off, it helps build confidence as very open. However the small greens and tricky location of them can balance it out. Some holes are stunning and as it's in New Forest you get to see horses although be careful where you step!
It is a nice course and fairways may not be what you are use to but take it for what it is. Excellent value for money and a reasonable challenge. My playing partners always enjoy playing here which tells you it is a good course!
Great views, lovely course
Course was in its usual good condition. 18 holes in 3 hours.(2 ball) and hardly saw, another golfer. Greens had sand on them but rolled lovely. Really superb views across the new forest.
Not worth the money
When I booked online, for 3 of us, being charge £33 per person expecting the course on tip top condition, realise it forest course, literally playing in the forest, the fair ways well if can call that, we’re disgrace, green we’re great either , so disappointed with paying that kind money, expecting so much more, definitely not worth the money!
Horrendous!
There’s horse droppings everywhere, even on some of the greens. Others are fenced off to keep the animals out but are really off putting. The fairways are a shambles and the icing on the cake was the cricket club next door blearing music and shouting down a tannoy for the entire round, which can be heard from every hole. To charge £27 to play here is scandalous! Save your money and play a proper course.
Very nice
Well worth playing nice staff great condition on greens some of the best ive played this year
Tricky greens to hit
Nice layout but needs more signs to show you layout. Ie played what we thought was 15 but ended up on 13 green again. Lots of nice shots into greens over streams .Greens ran true
Great fun playing around the horses .
Think we will enjoy it more next time now we know where to lay up and what danger is around greens ie slope running down to green
On one hole with water at back or can’t see stream in front on couple that caught us out .
Great course quite forgiving but still a challenge
Lovely course
Lovely greens and some superb golf holes. Some very wide open spaces and also a few very tough drives and approaches. Lots of ditches around the course that you cannot see.
A Surpise in the New Forest
We came thinking we were playing the Manor Course so both surprised and a little disappointed by my mistake that we were playing the Forest Course. This is a very different course. It was not long, but at times challenging. The signs could have been better! Forest course is laid out in common land in the New Forest and you play golf over and between New Forest ponies and grazing cattle. The ditches were dry and there was animal droppings. It was a unique experience one that I will not be rushing back to try again.

I’ll be back to play more!
