Enjoyable course
I think there are some harsh reviews of this course. The course overall was really enjoyable to play but could do with some water on the greens. Just becarful at the 9th hole as it is very close to the 12th.
Autumn Golfing
Nice course, only down side is it’s autumn and leaves are everywhere except on the trees making finding shots difficult at times.
Several holes shortened due to maintenance, would like to come back and play in the spring/ early summer.
Highlight of the round a birdie on the 12th!
Brandos
Yeah you can see the head green keeper has left, they have never really gave this course its full potential, the council and cov sports trust just want the profits. If they are insistent on reducing the course to temp holes/greens every year why are they not making proper temp greens for the off season??? the temp holes are an absolute joke.
It's always been the same, priced reasonably
A good knock though. The driving range and club house facilities are stuck in the 1970's.
Management are way behind the times here.
It is a great course that has massive potential..Hint hint...
Good condition during COVID-19 times
Booking in was well managed. Course was in good condition apart from bunkers. Probably due to reduced green keeping staff during COVID-19. Played as a Two ball and got round in 3 hours 15 minutes.
Great value for money.
Lovely course
Course and greens well tended though bunkers still out of play. Rounds of golf well organised and can’t fault in current circumstances.
Great condition the green are best best I've seen in years
We played when the course was at its best 18 holes
It was brilliant with good mowed fairways the bunker are not in play on most couses so we took relief.
But we were hoping to play again soon.
But unfortunately due to heavy rain over the past few days the course tends to flood
There is 9 holes playable at the moment which is a shame
We hope to.play again once the course returns to it full glory
Which I hope it's soon
The course has improved & is in excellent condition
Call Brandon Woods to check how we need to arrive & play booking on line advised to call the shop on arriving then walk to the shop which there's a table with sanitising products & score cards
Then you can have 10 minutes putting before teeing off
The is a one way system in place
We did use the bar it's table service only
The toilets are available down stairs no changing room you need to apply golf shoes in the car park
Course in great condition tee boxes need attention some challiging hole
Good condition
The course is a credit to the ground staff, fairways and greens in good condition. Some tees need levelling, but overall course is looking good.
Were are the staff
Never seen a member of staff from arriving till leaving .shocking
happy days
just played brandonwood course in very good condition had a great day thank you very much
Almost
I’ve played this course now several times and will no doubt do so again.
Upsides: brilliant greens, lush fairways and a challenging lay out all make this a tough, but fair challenge.
Downside: some tee boxes need re-seeding and simply looking after. Even moving the tee markers around to spread the wear at this time of year would help. Secondly, the untidy nature of the bunkers. There’s no sand in them- ok I accept that with COVID etc they are regarded as GUR, but for them to be overgrown with weeds and generally in a poor state really lets the course down, in my view. Lastly, some of the adjoining areas to walk through paths are massively overgrown. Just simple and occasional maintenance here would make all the difference.
So whilst this course has all the potential to be one of the best around, it’s ‘almost’ for me.
Great value all the same though.
Just needed one thing
Corse still in good nick just could do with getting shop open and the clubhouse
Don't forget your golf watch
On arrival you see the 18th green, looks in good shape and to be honest all the greens are very good. It's a shame up to the green is not as enjoyable. The tee boxes not in the best shape, marker posts generally do not exist and the fairways were overgrown. The course if looked after could be very good, there is a lot going for the course, shame really.
After the storm!
Generally a good days golf. We did not encounter any staff or use any facilities so cannot rate.
Played the day after Storm Frances so course was littered with branches, twigs and leaves but this was unavoidable.
Greens were good and fairways decent. Just gave the impression that if a bit more more money was spent on upkeep this would be a very good course. But being municipal, these funds are unlikely to be forthcoming.
On the whole, well worth a visit.
