The course really struggling with water log
We really like playing Brandon but at the moment
the course is not at its best the few holes are flooded due the recent wet weather
But what holes are playable the green are good
But can be confusing when you are navigating the course
It will possibly be a few weeks before it drys out
Excellent Course
Excellent green conditions, great value for money and staff were very helpful and friendly and this was reflected by all players.
Great VFM
Used to play course in the 1980's and could not remember layout.
Played a number of times this year and liked the whole experience.
Great VFM and will play again.
Good test for all skill levels
Starts off with a nice par 5 to get you into the swing. A lot of nice interesting holes with good greens and accommodating fairways.
It’s usually in excellent condition. You’ll need to carry provisions if required as clubhouse is only at first tee and last green. Well worth playing
Back from the brink
Last year this course was in serious need of care, one year on and its been given a makeover I would not believe if i hadnt witnessed with my own eyes. The ground staff/ green keepers have worked a wonder. I started playing here in !979, never has it been this good to look at let alone walk and play the fairways, to what are now becoming magnificent greens. This course management is a credit to all who take part, thank you for your efforts and we will certainly be back.
Much Improved
This municipal course is much improved over the past 18 months, the staff seem to be determined to battle the elements and bring the greens up to standard.
Outstanding value for money for that extra game!
Enjoy

Golf for all abilities
This course has received a lot of care and attention bringing it to near pristine condition. The greens are vastly improved following the drought of last summer, the bunkers are well tended and the fairways are nicely mown. There are still two temporary greens in play but they are fine and don’t detract from the round of golf. Course looks beautiful in the summer sunshine.
Sleeping Giant of Brandon
This course has the potential to be phenomenal but a few little things just let it down.
A few of the greens have bald patches and the rough needs cutting back in some areas to minimise time wasted on looking for errant balls.
One green was on temporary surface when I played.
The course is skirted by the River Avon and because of this has suffered in winter from flooding, it’s led to some fairways being a bit spongy , whilst others are rock hard.
The bunkers have sand in them but as they’ve been filled with water , the sand is compacted and needs re-raking and some of the rakes provided are broken, like wise the ball cleaners provided have not been re-filled with water and the intermittent litter bins need emptying.
That said it’s good value for money and for a council owned municipal can hold its own against more expensive local courses.
It’s a shame as the course itself is a really good test of golf , despite these minor issues .
Nice municipal course
The course is well designed with plenty of chances to make a par if you have the skill this course requires
The bunker are plentiful with very little sand which can be a problem
Short Course
Recent heavy rainfall has led to some flooding resulting in adjustments to play a shorter course but insignificant to the enjoyment of playing a lovely course in the Warwickshire countryside.
Great value
Despite two temporary greens the course was in great nick. Lush fairways and well kept all round. Will go again soon. A credit to Coventry.
Improving
Course in generally good condition. Still a lot of work needed on the greens.
Friendly place
Course still not in good condition. But price paid reflects this.
Brandon.golf
Course was in a terrible condition last year ...greens were awful ....but played it twice in last 10 days ...massive improvements have been made. Decent fairways greens looking better , its s real test of golf as well need to put the ball.in the right places or no Chance if g.i.r ....would recommend Brandon now
Great course but it still not quite there with the greens
We found this golf course welcoming the staff frendly
The course is challenging & can be enjoyed
The 19th hole is the best to chat about how well your game went over a pint
Lovely course
Winter course provides reduced circuit but still plenty of challenging play while allowing continuing green improvement following ravages of last summer.
Went to Brandon after seeing 1 or 2 positive comments ' always liked it there but yes what an improvement . trees need cutting back in front of the 7th green ' and could do with someone marshalling the course as some people just don't care how many groups they're holding up..other than that well done Brandon.
